Anyone in the market for a motorhome? My wife's grandparents are selling theirs. 2000, 31'. Super clean. $18,500. I have a bunch of pictures if anyone is interested.

Let me know if anyone plans on camping by me or if you might stop by for a while :rasta: and I'll let you know where and what side I'll be on.
If someone plans to camp will determine what side I'll be on.20190408_133713.jpg 20180527_201156.jpg

Come on Matt it's been too long.
If you can't camp or swing by for a visit let me know when. I'm almost always available.
Weather determines where I want to camp, not a big fan of heat.

    Out around Bowman?
Was down in the mountains by Mono lake and kept getting denied on trails by drifts once we hit around 9500ft. Sonora pass had a lot of snow still.

Yeah. But I was in the area 3 weeks ago and was hitting huge drifts at 5500’. This weekend I didn’t hit anything going up to 7500’. But I could see the really high areas still had a bit.

Those pictures looked awesome! I’m heading down by Bridgeport next week to escape the heat and can’t wait for some cool evenings in the pines.

Anyone need a TW express run to/from the Sacramento area?

Headed to Sacramento late Jul 3rd or early 4th. Return probably the 5th in afternoon (possibly morning of 6th). Plenty of room for larger items if need be.

Anyone know of any little part time jobs available? I need something to do during my weeks off. Need really picky on what it is or what it pays, just need something somewhat flexible so that if I have to go in to my main gig it’s no biggie.

    Anyone recommend a good electrician?

House built in 2000. So-so quality of wiring. Then the previous owner got hold of it, and HOLY F*CKING CHRIST have I found stuff that Just Ain't Right. I drew the line when I found that the PO ran an *extension cord* inside conduit to put an outlet at the other end of the garage. While that's an easy fix, I've got way bigger problems that I'm not qualified to handle.

Ever installed window screens? Our rental needs half a dozen or so new screens and at least one is missing the screen frame. It's fairly easy job if you can measure and cut but I don't have the time to mess with it right now. Just starting looking for a handyman or window contractor that can take care of it for us. Not steady work but if you are just looking for some cash......

The conduit is a nice touch - "there I fixed it". Last house I owned that I worked on wiring was built in 1920's. Had partially replaced knob and tube. I was in the attic crawling around and there was some wire coiled on top of the insulation. Just for kicks I decided to test it with the multi-meter. Yup - hot open stripped ends right there for me to crawl over and put my hand on as I passed. Kitchen had all nice new three-pronged outlets. Hmm - how do you get a ground with a two wire system? Yup, no grounds just the nice outlets.

Yeah, which probably makes it worse since the outer jacket retains heat.

    What started all this --

Wife calls me a week ago and says "Dishwasher won't work". At first I think "Is she going on strike?" and then realize she meant the appliance, not herself.

I get home, breaker is popped. I reset it and it stays. She does a load of dishes.

Few days later, same thing. This time it won't reset. She calls the home warranty company.

Dude shows up Monday, does *something* (I had to work, no time off yet) and all is well. I go into the basement (which itself is a room scabbed on in the crawlspace) on Wednesday for a reloading session, hit the lights and one string of lights dies. WTF? Look at breaker box - TWO breakers are tripped. The one of the dishwasher and the one for some of the plugs in the kitchen. Seeing two breakers pop got my antennae up. Took out the Survivor Lightbulb, reset the breakers and took my Fluke to the basement light outlets - 240VAC!!!!!!!! Somehow the electrician bonded 2x120V hots on separate phases, and in the process fed 240 to the basement lights.

He's coming out to undo his 'fix' tomorrow. After that, we'll see where it goes. I'm guessing since he's farmed out from the home warranty folks that he can't take the job of unfubaring all the mess..

Our last house in CA was like that. Built in 1949, old K&T, insulation was brittle as hell. We had the whole place re-wired before we moved in and never regretted it.

Thought I'd do better buying a much newer house, but man, they didn't cut corners - they took a friggin' dull chainsaw to them, laughing the whole time.
