So, see if you can do an inter-service transfer. If that animal still exists...

In Ohio (previous home state) and North Carolina, you have to declare that you are a CCW holder and whether you're packing of not as soon as an officer approaches your vehicle after being stopped. If stopped, I also declare where and what I'm carrying. It sets the officer at ease and I've always been thanked and that was the end of it.

Love that simple setup. Clean and you can easily reholster when you get out.

Maybe I missing something, but are you guys not also carrying when you're out of the truck? If so, doesn't a mounted holster leave you with an empty holster clipped in your belt?

What Velcro did you use? Looks like it’s peeling off a bit, same as mine and I used the Velcro for auto

It's the velcro G-Code sends with it, I haven't noticed it coming off or getting weaker.

Glad I found this thread, but I am still seeking a easy location but out of view. Like the near the right leg place best. Don't like trapped in a box with a lid so well. It is what it is , but I want something better . I usually don't get what I want without a lot of suffering . That is what it is too . :sorry:

Sometimes I pull mine off when I am on a longer road trip, but I pull the holster too so it keeps it's shape. I normally just keep it on me unless it is a really long trip.

Honestly, the drama with the Serpa holster is somewhat overblown.

I've used it plenty in the service, as of have plenty of other front-line combatants. I see the potential for safety issues, but if you practice the draw it nearly becomes a non-issue. Plenty of people have used that thing in combat...it doesn't have nearly the notorious reputation in military circles as it does in the training and civilian groups.

With that said, if you can find a good thumb break holster go for that.

Here is what mine looks like. I went with the Serpa for the console and a different brand OWB paddle holster when I'm not in my truck.

I love the creativity of these mounts. But as a PO for over 39 years, I always found it easier to just buy the best holster you can afford and for me it was always my Milt Sparks Summer Special 2, and wear it everywhere, including while driving in my Trucks. Too much can happen when your truck is broken into, or you leave it unsecured by accident or when in a hurry. By wearing it all the time, I know where it is .. all the time. But I understand everyone's different firearms needs. Be safe all....

I wish I could, back and forth on a military post every day makes this impossible. Can't even conceal it legally in truck or on person (even though I have a CDW), and has to be registered on post, which I absolutely won't do. So I have a lot of moving it back and forth. I do hide it sometimes behind my rear seat under a rain jacket, guards never think to look there, but I'm rolling the dice on that.

I totally get it. Do they search your person on entry? I was an MP and I didn't do pat downs or body searches at the gate, but that was 38 years ago . I'm sure things have changed due to being at war, and terrorism

No, they don't and that's an excellent point. I've done a hundred checkpoints downrange where this is essential, yet I tell folks even today, put it on your person, they don't do body searches. I even tell the guards (not MP's, just disgruntled engineers that don't want to be there anyway, but are the duty unit), how ineffective this method is. You'll tear apart my vehicle looking for whatever, but won't even ask me to open my jacket. Government efficiency at it's finest.
