I have new steering rack bushings too, but when I went to install those I found out that the long ass bolt that goes through one of the steering rack bushings hits my front diff when I try to pull it out, thanks to the stupid diff drop/tilt (just barely hits it). So I skipped on doing those, and TBH they still looked good anyway

 

I would happily run the OEM 555 tie rods.

I see nothing wrong with aftermarket tierods

 

yeah the last thing I want is a tie rod breaking on the trail, I get that it's not as bad as a LBJ going out but it'll still render you immobile until you get it fixed. I've come across more than one rig left behind on trails with cross-eyed tires and notes in the window saying they went to go get some new tie rods lol. One was an FJ cruiser and the other was a Tacoma

I think I have a 555 and an Oem with 280k on the 99 and 2 555’s on the 02

LBJ’s that is

 

I’d probably run 555 on the tie rods no problem over Moog. LBJ’s I shelled the money for OEM.

 

Oem or 555.

The 555 tie rods are damn near oem quality

Welp, Im about to fork over $130 for two pieces of interior trim. Hopfully they come wrapped in solid gold.

 

Go buy @mechanicjon ’s reinforcement plates or they’ll be broken in two weeks.

 

Its on the list. Ill be extra careful until then.

 

They break more in the lifted trucks and 4x4’s over the 5-lugs. When you’re closer to the ground you don’t put your body weight on it to get in the seat.
