excessive rear droop?

Curious about something I've noticed when my truck was on the lift to do some minor stuff.

I have Bilstein 5100 rear shocks with ARB Dakar EL095R springs. I also have extended rear brake hoses and a u-bolt flip.

(I think) my axle drops too much. It stretches the brake hoses and also the wires for the wheel speed sensors. I don't have extended brackets for these items because I didn't think I needed them. The truck will be on the lift this Saturday to do a R/F wheel bearing and install missing leaf spring pads. I was going to measure from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender both when the truck is on the ground and up in the air. Is there anything else I should be looking at?

 

I have the medium duty Dakar’s and went with 5125s for 2-3” of lift and extended brake lines . Are the 5100s ok to run with the Dakar pack . I thought they would be too small.

 

You should install an extended brake line with any amount of rear lift, not worth risking breaking the line when flexing out the rear and losing brake function. It's cheap insurance and easy to do

 

I have extended brake hoses but I think they are still too short. I have these hoses from headstrong:

Which 5100? Standard length or the longer b110? I ran the b110 with +4” brake lines and dakars and never had any issues.

Once I went to a more advanced set up I added the 1” bracket like @whatstcp mentioned and I soldered about 4” extension into my abs lines.

I'm not sure. Will it say it on the side of the shock?

 

You can measure it and see. You’ll have to droop your rear end out and measure them. On the bottom, center of the bolt. On the top, to where the shock enters the upper mount.

 

I'll have it on the lift tomorrow so I can look then.
I'm also going to measure tire to bedside distance on the ground and when on the lift.

 

While it’s on the lift, check out how tight the brake lines/abs lines are

 

Last time it was on the lift, when I noticed the "issue", both hoses and ABS wires were snug. I'm thinking maybe a 1" spacer will be all I need.
I'm going to unbolt the brackets while it's on the lift and see what will be a good size spacer.

Forgot to measure the shock when it was on the lift today.
I did measure from the bottom of the flare to the top of the tire:
on the ground - 9 1/2" est.
on the lift - 15 3/4" est.

Also, the passenger leaf spring hits the exhaust when it's on the lift.

I added a 3/4" spacer to the brake hose bracket and unclipped the ABS harness.
I also installed the two missing leaf spring pads.
