Very nice. I off-roaded a Fiat Panda to get to some pretty spectacular areas in Greece last week. Who needs a lifted 4wd anyway?
I have KO2's, dad's Tundra has KO2's, dad's 4R had KO2s until they got replaced by Cooper ATPs. The KO2 is a great tire. Quieter on the road than the ATPs and good off road. Mud is nothing to rave about because they basically turn into racing slicks, but most A/Ts will do that. I'll run them til they're bald on my truck and then get something more aggressive in 255/80/17
Switching tires is a pain, and keeping the off-road ones from getting dry rot is hard when they sit for a while. Just keep the aggressive tires on the truck and buy a car to DD is what I say! ;)

Agreed with all statements. I had KO2s previously, great on road tires. Did well in everything but mud. I have stt pros now though. A bit noiser on the road.

Also have a dd though so the truck sits a lot

    Yeah.
Thanks, guys, was leaning toward the KO2's anyway. But, the universe seems to be steering me to the Duratracs. As a Walmart tech employee, I'm doing a little of what they call "dogfooding." Some folks are going to get some feedback tomorrow. Here's my experience so far (TL;DR for Pete - Walmart sux):

There are 2 versions of the KO2, one with and one without a 50K mile warranty. The one without has the snowflake rating and a different rubber compound to resist chipping. Both are the same price. But stay with me. The Sam's Club mobile site wouldn't let me add the installation package saying they don't fit my vehicle (you have to tell them what vehicle they will be going on). The regular web site won't let you add installation when you are putting the tires in your cart, but you can skip that and then add the installation from your cart and it works. But only from a PC browser, not the mobile site. Both versions of the tire let me get to checkout, and THEN tell me they are out of stock. WTF? Why let me get that far? Why completely lock me out of installation when just going from 70 to 75 aspect ratio?

So. I go to Walmart.com -- I get a 10% discount, good to use on large purchases. There, I can't tell which version I am buying, but the price is the same as Sam's Club, so 10% off is a great deal. It lets me go through the transaction, free pickup, but no way to add installation. My experience with Walmart.com is that they will let you go through with the transaction, and if they figure out later they don't have stock they will send you an email.

So, I might get new tires next week, might not, and still have to figure out installation if I do.

The Duratracs from Sam's let me go all the way through, with $80 off. But need to wait to see what happens with the KO2 order.

Without looking at the web pages, I would guess that the one with the 50k warranty is a P-rated tire and the one without is a LT tire. The P-rated will likely be around a C load (6? ply) and the LT will be an E load (10 ply).

    Yeah.
Both were listed as LT E-rated 123R and were the same price, so it took me a while to figure out what the difference was. The only clue on the Sam's site was the manufacturer model number was different. BFG site showed one as "DT," and I had to go to TireRack for a good explanation. It's apparently a "Different Tread" compound that trades better durability (resists chipping, etc., and you get a 50K mile warranty) for the snowflake symbol.

So Walmart did not cancel my order, tires are in FedEx's hands and should be at my local Walmart tomorrow. At $169 each, I'm not sure how they are making any money at all if they are using FedEx, lol. Also not sure which version I am getting, the DT or snowflake, guess we will see!

The snowflake symbol just means it passed the testing requirements for a severe snow service rating. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=125

I have no idea. I just moved to AR at the end of April. However, I think some parts in the northern part of the state are kinda "mountainous".

Snows easier than mud. ICE is the bitch down here, but rare the last few years. Feb and Mar are the worst generally ...

We get snow here but it will usually turn into slush during the day and then refreeze at night. I was on a major concrete paving job a couple of years ago and a few guys on the project had PhDs in concrete. They said Arkansas has a worse freeze/thaw issue than Alaska because in Alaska it will just freeze and stay frozen for the winter. Arkansas may go through 10 cycles in a week.

Gotchya. Ice definitely sucks. Took a little sideways action myself in my gto on one of those kind of days. Just enough sun to make it black ice.

    Yeah.
Yeah, not worried too much about snow, and my tires will likely need to be replaced due to age before they wear out. So either version would have been fine. Still only 7600 miles on the truck after a year and a half. The DT version is what showed up, which was the more expensive version on TireRack. Long wait for install, but they have corporate wifi at this store so I turned it into my office for the afternoon, lol.

I’m usually between 3,500-4,500 a month! But, I’m in a new test vehicle about every 15k so it doesn’t add up. I think I did 3,200 last year in the Tacoma with about 2,500 of that being the CO trip.
