i have a 2017 Tacoma TRD off-road and was wondering if y’all knew of the safest weight total they can pull comfortably. Was looking at a Winnebago Micro Mini 22 foot. It’s dry weight is 3700 pounds approximately..but probably would add another 200-300 pounds with full white tank and gear.. ideas?

No built in hitch? 2018 came standard.

This is what I found. Off road will be very close As tow package is likely standard

The tow rating on that truck is 3500. I'm sure people have pulled more with no issue, but you need a ttailer brake controller for something that heavy

Rated for 6500 ish lbs. However, most people agree 4-5k is the max you want to pull. Especially if what you are pulling will create a lot of drag.

How is it 3500 pounds? Pretty sure the 4x4 comes with tow package standard.

The sport with tow package has a tranny cooler (mine does at least and its a 2012) not sure if the 3rd gens all have trans coolers or only tow package trucks do.

Just depends on if shes got the tow package or not. I don't know if all 4x4 trucks come with it or not

Well that’s a good question. I might naively assume an OEM hitch implies tow package.

Budget for at least 500 over dry. Propane, kitchen pantry, batteries, outdoor furniture, it adds up surprisingly quick.

It can pull that much weight, but it isn't gonna get there any time soon. Be careful in the Western deserts, it's easy to run out of gas if you don't plan your next stop from your previous stop.

For a 22 footer at 4500 pounds (realistically) a wdh with sway control is a must. So is a brake controller. But with those, youll do fine.

FWIW, I’m planning on a 3800lb airstream in the next few years. Figure we’ll be at 4600-4800 loaded up. 2018 off-road.

Not all tacomas came with a tow package, most if not all do now, but not in the first years. make sure you are certain before trying to tow that much weight. Lots of dealers or people will install a hitch reciever, this does not mean you necessarily have an tow package

I’m confused by your question. The camper I would be pulling is approx 3500 poundsdry. I do have a 2017 off-road that has a receiver hitch.

Having a hard time viewing the whole screen on my phone, does that say it DOES have ATF cooler?

You can check by vin, but the trans cooler should be located in front of the a/c condenser, just behind the grille. It will look like a small radiator. That's where I'd check first.
