Since I’ll never do a turbo or sc I’m really thinking about these. Just worried about noise. They seem super simple to swap for inspection too.

You can see exactly in the ov tune thread. I haven’t done a ton of research yet as I only recently saw them while o was trying to upgrade my tune.

But ov tune said it’s the most hp they can get off of an NA truck. They replace a section with a cat near the front. Muffler stays. In my past, unless it’s turbo, pulling off cats make it sound like ass.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
    1. Know what your limitations are going to be for the work you put into installing 37s. Example, quite a few folks street 37s but don’t crawl because of the amount of rubbing and cutting. This is gen immaterial. @HolyHandGrenade has set the example and detailed out a solid demonstration of the cutting required to fully stuff 37s. Wheel offset and tire width will vary but there is still a good bit of cutting required. Not hard, just required if you want to play off-road or even hit an inclined driveway like a boss.

    2. MT or AT will vary. I have plenty of weight on my truck but I also run a S/C. I run 4.88s just fine but I am in a second gen AT. Everyone experiences this differently because of terrain and style of driving so I won’t go down that road but I have no issues with my setup and hit all the gears just fine. I adjusted my speedo with hypertech inline and I also beefed up my tranny with the ratiotek HD kit.

    3. Steering. I have yet to beat on my truck off-road. I go camping with the family but don’t try to get through trails for the sake of it. I am not setup for rock crawling. My CVs and steering rack are fine. Cranking the steering wheel at a halt is what I avoid. I don’t have issues but then again. I am not trying to navigate a tight trail. I have lockers and have no issues, other than ARB air leaks. The 37s are plush and ride well. I love it. I still have rubbing to but I am just now getting my garage set back up. @HolyHandGrenade build thread is pretty phenomenal and demonstrates quality work done out of his house. The pics are great and give you an idea of how and what to cut. The only true measure is to remove the coilover and stuff the wheel with a floor jack to check for rubbing.

I definitely think it’ll be louder but not as much as you think because I believe we have 2 sets of cats. 2 up by the engine and 2 Closer to the muffler. So I think the last 2 will help. Hopefully it’ll be somewhat closer to say a TRD pro exhaust.

How come? Yours isn’t that much different. Won’t it even be a bit lighter?

Lol I've had to trim the biggest glass they make to clear 37s... no wheel wells 4" backspace wheels, a tubbed firewall and super chopped cab mount. Granted I have pretty much the most extreme LT kit out there and I'm a second gen but still...its alot of work to get big tires to clear correctly

I know, I have 315s and I think my steering rack is going out. It makes a squeeling noise at low speed turning

I have some firewall work to do but there is no chance my tires will hit fenders or can mount.

But I only have a mild LT kit with stupid looking fenders.

The only other piece you need is a dad with a machine shop YouTube channel. This might run a little more than 200 bucks

Sorry. I didn’t mean to downplay the skill. I couldn’t do it. Cool to have the outlet though. :D
