I love this build, as said above its not overdone at all. Clean, I would vote to keep the stock OR grill, the TRD Pro Grill is becoming overkill. But I'm hoping to do a build similar, what was the total cost of the front/rear shocks/ lift?

Thank you! I’m torn between the stock OR grille and the Pro grill to be honest. Something to be said for both.

    Costs:

    Tires $830 shipped
    Wheels and lugs $1150 shipped
    5100’s $240 shipped
    WULF blocks $60
Install, mount and balance, new TPMS (not existing), alignment $700

FWIW I installed the rear blocks

    I just don’t get it.

I see trucks with 285 tires / similar setup and it looks too small.

Come across your truck and they seem perfect.

What am I missing here ?

Ridge Grapplers are like MT but theyre AT vs AT ko2 or atw3 tires also the black lip makes the center of wheel look like 16s

Thank you! Looking through this board helped me immensely as well. I figured I'd take some time and give back.

This truck has the premium package as well - not that you can tell from the exterior. A couple thousand miles later I'm still happy with it.

+1 I think it's the aggressive sidewall of the Ridge Grapplers coupled with the contrasting (fake) bead lock of the Ray10. It honestly ended up higher than i had anticipated with a 1" rear lift and 2" front lift.

I’m loving the stance! How does it ride with 5100 and stock springs?

Believe it or not, fine. I would say the ride is just about the same as stock with the only difference being the front end doesn’t dive when you’re hard on the brakes. This is a good thing :)

Sexy set up! This the exact lift set up I want. But want a matte black f5s 16” with 285/75/16 cooper or falken tires. Does yours rub anywhere? And how’s the mpg? I’m averaging 19mpg on city. Thanks in advance! I own a 2019 TRD 4x4 off road short bed.

Thanks! Mine only rubs at the cab mount in reverse when cracking past 2/3. I live in the city so my mpg is always terrible. Before the current setup it was around 17mpg, now I’m down to about 15mpg. I don’t drive enough nor care enough to be concerned about mpg. Strictly on the highway I’m averaging about 20mpg, down from about 22mpg.

For what it’s worth I live in Boston and get more compliments and people wanting to know about the setup than almost any car I’ve owned - including my Porsche Macan GTS and wife’s Range Rover Sport that are both blacked out with 21” wheels and sharp looking. I think folks connect more with the Tacoma - meaning it’s more attainable and unpretentious.

nice! just wondering how bad the mpg went down with those tires.. so your taco is completely leveled with the 2/1? im thinking of max notch on the bilstein 5100 up front and a 2'' block in the rear. im not sure how much rake ill have.

How much work did you need to fit the Ray 10s and (275/285)s? Lift, plastic trim, CMC etc? I have a pro, which apparently i can fit 285 with stock rims sans lift (although, planning to lift 2in anyway)...but wondering if these Ray 10s will make more work for me...planning on 17x8.5s...

Drove all the way to auburn for the truck? Looks great thinking gunmetal ray 10s on my cement too. How’s the service at herb chambers any knowledge or just bone heads like most of the dealers around mass.

I live in Boston and got it from the Herb Chambers in Brighton. The service at HC had been stellar, of course, I only brought it in once. Kept the truck for 2 years and have since sold it. Only brought it in for the free maintenance included with the purchase.
