Well......that would be the app referenced in other posts, including screens shots, etc.

It is an "add on" to the 12v or N2 kit that allows you to start, GPS locate, and monitor battery charge from anywhere both the truck and phone have cell service.

It's understood you don't use the app and are happy without it. But there was a "voting" aspect of which company was best. It seemed that it was a good time to point out the app, etc. were identical.

Like you, mine was provided by 12v. Since the physical products by both vendors is the identical, I'm sure I would be happy with N2s. I simply maintain a loyalty to the vendor that was months earlier delivering a product, doesn't undercut the first vendor, doesn't spam every remote start thread, and has delivered service-wise. But that's just me.

Many people feel differently and have a loyalty to N2. And that's OK!

Which ever one you go with, just remember that they are not full take over, meaning the truck will shutoff once a door is opened. I went with 12volts and when I called to place my order, Mike had told me I had just missed a group buy but he dis give me a discount anyways. Thought that was great service from them. Install was easy thanks to thei

You mad bro? Your passive aggressive comments sandwiched by "complements" doesn't really make it any "nicer". Not sure why there's resentment, or if I've done something personally to you (rhetorical question as I have not), but since they're banned on here, I can answer knowledgeably, and I apologize I am answering questions on a forum in a subject that's our specialty, in a forum where WE'RE EXCLUSIVE (worked hard to earn it); not sure how this qualifies as "spamming". I am answering questions people have regardless if they have my product, a product or no product. Furthermore, not sharing the truth and educating people is doing them an injustice. I am not condescending to anyone or any company. I put no one down. I apologize but I feel as if you have some tension for some odd reason, could just be me. But you've also made ("spammed") your point, actually a few times now, we get, you're happy with your 12VS system. I've mentioned it before, and I'll say it again, I am glad you are. It's not a inferior product. It's good. If you search, you'll see me supporting people on here with 12VS questions, problems and assisting with troubleshooting. I've taken calls on a weekend from people who need help and support, but it was a 12VS system, and they called me either on accident or for whatever odd reason. I helped them. I did not turn them away. I never even told 12VS it's happened. Humble is my philosophy. It does not make me mad that people have options out there, it's the country we live in and it's great.

To each his own...there are things on the back-end that are personal that you are not be aware of that have happened that would make you second guess everything you just said. I chose the high road and act mature as a person and business so what you see, that's actually being nice. Much worse has come from the other end, but it's not my style. As a company from consumer perspective, top notch, I can't knock'em. I still speak highly of Clay and what he's done for himself and the success that has come his way. I'm not a hater. It's a capitalist country. No one is stopping anyone. I'm the customer's advocate, and will continue to save you money is how I see it. Don't care about the competition. I mind my own.

P.S. I never said anything about you spamming my A/V thread with links re-directing people to other products...did I? Well guess it's a good time to point that out now, Mike.

Edit: I distributed here last summer for a brief period (asked Clay for permission) for 12VS even though I had my own product, and margins, out of respect and loyalty. Tell me a competitor that does that?

If you purchase the optional smart phone app based control module (N2-MYC4G-U), yes. The remote start part which is required first gives you the ability to start/stop it by pressing the lock button on your OEM fob 3 times. The smart phone could be added at anytime. Most always end up getting it so you can bang out the entire install with trim open once and be done with it if you're not budget prohibited.

Not completely true. Only push to start isn't. HKEY Auto, HKEY Manual (N2 Exclusive), and Base (Keyless-Entry w/ Remote Start also N2 Exclusive)) Kits allow you to. Basically if you have a key you can stick into the ignition, you do have key take over.

Pretty sure I’ve read this right as I’ve been reading in and off this forum every day for a week now but the push to start Tacoma’s (mines 2019 trd off road) can’t bypass the remote start disengage that happens upon opening of the door correct? I promise you I’ve been reading and have finally made it, working backwards from most recent post, to around page 6000 of third gen mod thread and each time I see something I like I venture off and read more then see something else and venture more and keep reading.

Anyway if it’s not able to be bypassed is there anything in the works allowing it to stay running while started? Thanks for your time!

Just curious... would shorting the door pin solve this problem? It seems the truck knows to shut off once the door opens, thus ‘don’t open the door’ by bypassing the door switch.

The remote start has no effect on the tailgate mod. I have both. Remote start uses the lock button 3 times, tailgate mod uses unlock button. Good to go! :)

So with the smartphone module, if I press lock 3 times on my fob will it still start? And does the app on your phone allow you to start it from a further distance?

Whats the range on the remote start with the phone app? Lets say im at work with 4g and my car is in the parking lot 1/4 mile away (also in an area that has 4g), will it be able to start as long as your phone and truck are both in areas with 4g. Could I start it from 10 miles away? Thanks.

Running while started? Yes, forcing the door limit switched down indefinitely. Driving off, never. Once brakes are pressed, engine turns off. It's not just the door.

    See above answer.

Yes. App, anywhere in the world, lock/unlock, start/stop engine, check doorlock status, battery voltage status, and GPS locate down to 2-3 feet accuracy.

You could be in China and your vehicle in Kansas. If your phone has decent reception, or WiFi, and vehicle has decent reception, that it.

See above if you're also wondering something asked?

Just a +1 recommendation for you. I have one of your remote starts and you were quick to respond to questions during install.
