It’s basically what they told me when I tried to order one through them.

This is why new Toyota trucks are stupid. It’s going to be a PITA to lift or do anything aftermarket to your truck.

I lifted my truck about 3 inches in the front and about 2 inches in the back, these are ruff numbers and after 265/70/17 inch tires. No issues with the sensor. I later added a OEM grill and garnish and no issues. Its not the plastic grill causing the OP's issue, its the garnish. IDK if my lift then install of the pro grill kind of puts it back to factory height. I haven't had one issue since the lift went on and the pro grill. I say sensor or garnish.

I too have a faux Pro Grille, but I have the OEM garnish. I've had no issues with the cruise control.

    A few.
This is the fix right here. Not wasting money on another garnish. That wont change the angle of the sensor.

I have a $100 chinese grille and oem garnish. It wasnt until I added a washer on the top screw which angeled the sensor upward that it stopped turning itself off. Works perfect ever since.

May as well buy a Ridgeline, because who wants a Tacoma you can't lift or modify? The problem with these sensors, and others like BSM sensors. They do not function well in dirty environments like the outdoors, where most vehicles spend the majority of their time.

I don’t know if I would go Ridgeline far ha ha. I traded in my 17 for a 1st gen Tundra and loving the older ride much more. But newer vehicles it’s going to be harder for sure.

I had an issue with mine until I used a couple of washers to change the sensor angle, glued apiece of clear plexi wrapped in matte vinyl I had laying around behind the grill/in front of the sensor. (not on the sensor)

Next step would have been to order the garnish but this has worked for me and well over 10,000km with no issues.

    nothing just gas & go
Here is my follow up on the TSS recall with the Toyota Pro grill on a 2019 Off Road. When I made the appointment they told me no problem having the Pro grill. This morning they told me that all they were required to do (now that I had changed the grill) was to turnoff the TSS & advise me that they had done so. I replied that the only way I knew about the Pro grill was from their many mailings & E -mails that I get FROM Toyota enticing me to accessorize my new Tacoma and so I did just that, and that I expect a full refund for my grill & garnish if they couldn't do the TSB since I still had my O R grill? They said they were looking into it and after an hour they came out & said they would have to order the part. So I went to get more coffee & just happened to over hear the mechanic & parts man talking about not having the Off Road part but they had a Pro part in stock & since I had the pro grill the mechanic could install it & recailibratied the sensor. After 4-1/2 hours total time (they did the 10k service too). WAA LAA it was finished!!! I'm wondering if the fix for the O R grill is the rubber cover flap thing that I have saw pictures of here & the fix for the Pro is a seal?
Either the mechanic was trying to go by the book & the grill change had him a little confused, or he was trying to explain to the service & parts Mgr the difference between the two grills anyway once that was figured out they fixed it. I give them a big thumbs up as this was the same dealer that 7 months earlier crashed the bed side of my 2017 Super White ORDC, that explains why I came home with a 2019 Midnight black w/ blue metal flake ORDC premium PKG W/ leather seats. by the way The parts mgr told me Toyota pulled all the pro grills & the only way to get one from Toyota NOW is to have a Pro & he could only order one with the vin # anyone else have any info on this ? If this is true the Chinese better ramp up production!

I had heard the same thing, regarding pulling Pro grills or not allowing them to be sold for vehicles other than Pro vehicles. I also recently experienced that Toyota or at least, some dealers, do not want to sell, or are barred from selling, Pro parts at all, or ANY parts for vehicles other than what they were made for. Example in my case, I was inquiring about the colored door panels that come on 'some' Trd Sport tacomas. I have never seen anywhere where they are mentioned on the sticker or whatever, but just happen to come on various TRD Sport models. They did not come on mine, and I was inquiring about how to get them. I was told by the dealer that the colored panels are NOT available as a separate option, as they are part of the door panel. The entire door panel could be ordered with the different color armrest panel, but it was $600 per door panel, and they would NOT order them for my truck because my VIN didn't show that they came on my truck, which they didn't. In other words, they would not sell me something that was not made specifically for my truck. Strange...

Yeah . I hope my next truck is a 1948 Dodge Power Wagon . Just reading this thread makes me hungry with all the talk OEM "garnish" and tsb which in the kitchen is a tablespoon .

Well anyway in the future am sure there will still be water soluble finger paints we can customize our trucks with. I must have hit italics. I don't care LOL

You can buy a WWII era Dodge Power Wagon restomod for as little as $150,000
