Truck looks good man. IMHO, 6” is a little too much lift for me but it looks cool. As stated earlier I’d take the lift off and do a little research before getting another lift. I’ve been researching myself. List of reputable coil suspension & leaf lifts below:

    King
    Icon
    Bilstein
    OME
    ADS
    Fox

Check with Headstrong Off-road. They’re very helpful and knowledgeable. The search button will bring up dozens and dozens of threads related to all the brands above. I’m looking to get the Bilstein 5100 with undecided coils (maybe 888 or 887) and a 1” block or maybe a Dakar leaf pack in the near future.

    Good luck bro

Edit #1: I’m a noob and still haven’t figured it all out. I’ve never had a lifted truck before.

Yeah never lift anything past 3” unless your paying in the area of $5k for an insane off-road suspension. Never buy rough country, cheapest lift on the market.

You messed up pretty bad OP, but don’t fret, you live and learn.

Take all that crap off, hopefully get a refund and stay around TW. You will learn everything you need to know about suspensions and lifts here for the taco.

Alright op, coming from an ex 6” lift guy there could be a lot at play here. Plenty of things in the lift could of been installed incorrectly however one thing you should check is the hub bore on those wheels. Some manufacturers make the hub bore a larger size to fit more than one vehicle. Your looking for 106.1 size and from my experience could definitely cause some shakes. That along with a not properly balanced tire can cause some death wobble. Go get a road force balance, from a different shop and start there if nothing is found wrong with the installed lift. You could also have them take the lift out, just be warned that it’s not so simple once the frame is cut. I’m in that process now, going with a full midtravel setup from king and a relocate from bamf in the rear. Best of luck

Probably a simple thing like tire balancing. Some people getting way too dramatic about the lift. Just watched this install vid, it's not a BFD. Actually looks like a well-engineered kit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqQQ-lWoPBA

Wow :( I should sign up for TW before I did anything for my truck. The guys at the shop tell me he did for over 15 years lifted truck and he said he will test drive and do all that to find out and fixed the problem. Hopefully everything will go right

The shop didn't tell you that they had to cut the frame to weld in new cross members or what they would have to do to install a lift? You didn't ask? Ps your frame warranty is nil now, plus pretty much every part attached with this lift. Arms, bearings, etc. Once you get over a certain height on any vehicle it may take a good amount of loot to fix or correct angles and alleviate stresses on other parts. Hope they fix it

Wow...cutting the cross member? No thanks

Due to cutting the cross member...this kift kit is semi permanant.

Does anyone know how functional the rough country lift is? I have my own opinions but would rather not add any more unecessary jargon.

Danny, I hope you get everything sorted to the point where you are happy with the truck. A 6" lift is a little too much in my opinion. Do you do any offroading by chance?

They're likely going to charge you $600 to remove your kit. Your kit may have involved having to cut a differential mount or crossmember, so you may not even be able to return it to stock... I'm not sure about Rough Country.

Either way you'll take a huge loss trying to sell your brand new setup. I wouldn't do it.

I really think it's the tires. Peak inside the wheels and see how many ounces it took to balance each tire. If they stuck a hard to balance tire in the front, you will really feel it in the steering. Swap the harder to balance tire to the rear and see if that helps.

I would take the truck back to Texas Kustumz and see what their policy is for rebalancing tires and/or working with the tire company to possibly replace the one or two harder to balance tires.

If Texas Kustumz tells you to kick rocks, take it to a reputable tire shop and ask them to rebalance all of your tires.

Some tires just never balance perfectly. It's not unusual for larger/heavier tires to vibrate or wobble at specific speeds. Most people complain of 45-55mph, 65+mph and braking vibrations with 35"+ tires.

Good luck, it may never be perfect.

You are getting some horrible advice with all the doom and gloom..

First off, you’re in it to win it at this point. Once you go 6” with a drop bracket lift, there’s not going back to stock without extensive cutting and welding to rebuild the subframe. Second, it’s likely a simple issue. Possibly wheel balance, or poor wheel selection without a hub centric design. You may also need another alignment. Put some trust in the guys you took it to. If they can’t make it right, seek out another professional and then look for reimbursement down the road from the original installer.

Your trucks looks great, and there is nothing wrong with a 6” lift. It’ll ride better than most all of these guys with a 2-3” lift since the drop bracket is giving the majority of your lift. With that said, once this debacle is over, you may consider regearing with those big tires. She’s going to be a slug without it, especially on the highway.

Did no one mention carrier bearing bushing? A cheap easy fix that’s probably somewhat related to the issue at hand.

Don’t get discouraged, plenty of guys run RC drop brackets with no issues. The ones that do have issues (or are disappointed in the overall performance after the fact) come here and see a different light.

As stated, take it back, don’t be afraid to ask for the alignment sheet, see if there is a spacer on the driveshaft. Don’t give up yet
