Yeah I use my cast iron pans all the time. And 40 lb. cast iron high wall griddle when cooking for a crowd

My Jenn Air stove has a wok as part of the system, lived here almost 20 years and never used it. Can't imagine electric can get it hot enough. Had the Lodge wok for 2 years and have only ever seasoned it

With the Vortex I can get it really hot the way it is meant to be used. Still have high temp oil for it but not sure it is even good anymore. Maybe later next week I will give it a try.

1,540 reviews on Amazon and 4.6 out of 5. Guess someone thinks they work well. But I normally cook low and slow only time I do hot and fast is searing steak or pork chops. Might have to learn something new, that was my original intent. 2 years later still haven't though.

I was wondering about that. I find cast iron likes slow and steady, or at least I have better success with slow and steady unless I'm using some kind of oil, lard or meat with a higher fat content. I think one of the things that make a disc easy to use is the curve is a lot flatter than a wok and can cook up on the sides. I've seen some street vendor videos where a guy was cooking either half or smaller whole potatoes in oil in the bottom then slowly adding vegetables and meats higher up occasionally splashing the stuff on the sides with the oil. It was pretty cool to watch.

Did some digging and it looks like it is made by Carolina Cooker and is sold through Agri Supply. $58 but calculating shipping to my place is $35. It is a heavy beast.

    Evening All!

Apparently I missed the Jalapeno that was ready. My wife picked a couple more tomatoes too. We need to make some salsa before we head to Colorado next week.

Fellas and Ladies, 2004 taco prerunner has a low rumbling sound when coming to a stop, more low speed. 114,000 miles. Original u-joints. Recently installed a new carrier bearing. It had same sound before carrier bearing install. During c/b install I worked the u- joints by hand, they seemed fine.
    Thoughts?
