    What’s up everyone
    2011 Tacoma

Battery took a dump yesterday so I changed it and let it run for 10 minutes after I did it

Now today, after my morning workout came home and as I was parking I noticed the truck was shaky so I left it in park and i noticed the lights getting dimmer, truck sounded like it was going to stall so I put it back in drive and it was okay for about 5 secs and it started shaking again.

    Could this be the alternator?

Have you done a visual inspection under the hood to see if you accidently knocked loose a vacuum hose or something like that? Check engine light on? Charge light on?

Yes I’ve checked everything but nothing has changed or was moved other than battery.

No lights come up on the dash, everything is as should be

Take a voltage reading across the battery when the truck is running. It should read about 14 volts if the alternator is charging (ok). If it reads about 12 or less then you have a charging issue.

This. What the OP described is classic vacuum leak. May just be a coincidence, or you may have accidentally bumped a hose.

Everytime I unplug my battery my truck idles rough as hell for the next couple days before returning to normal. I always notice mine idling under 500 rpm during this period, but definitely double check your hoses.

im willing to be its an alternator issue. If your battery took a dump its probably because it was just running off the battery with no charge going to it. Thus draining it completely and the truck barely maintaining idle. voltmeter is the easiest way to check as previously mentioned.

    Thanks everyone,
I let it sit for a day without turning it on and I double checked again for anything out of place but it was all good

Drove it the next day and it was fine, been good ever since
