Well, you guys were correct, LCA bushings are shot.
When I get home tonight I’ll edit a little video together to share on here, in the meantime you can see two short clips on my IG @95taco

they let me sample a couple of different grits on the caps, these seemed to be so smooth on that old plastic

also chatted them up about some frame paint and actuator something for the near future, i need to find something I can use a brush with and not a sprayer
and some assistance taking off the pickup box

No the entire finish does not need to be remover, clean all the grease and dirt off, sand the entire cap so the paint will stick, spray and done

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Awesome! At least it may not be your rack.

The LCA bushings are a bit of a pain in the ass, but not nearly as much pain in the ass as replacing a rack... and no where near as expensive.

    Get Whiteline LCA bushings

I mean...sorta. You still have to pull the rack haha Id definitely say its one of the least fun things to do. And I cheated by just getting aftermarket LCAs haha

Kinda screwed yourself on the reassembly though, you started building another truck instead

to pull the LCA to replace the bushings. Not like 100% but still pretty much remove it other than the lines and column connection to get the rear drivers side LCA bolt out.

To me, that wasn't a big deal... the lines and column connection are like 2/3s of the work on the rack. For the LCAs, all you gotta do is get enough room to pull the bolts.

LCA bushing aren't fun... hell, for me, most of the work was AFTER I got the LCAs off the truck. But I'd sure rather do that than pony up $500+ on a new rack.

Today I finished a shock rebuild for my truck. @Dalandser found these used Saw shocks on Craigslist and let me know about them. Luckily I had a friend driving to that part of Cali, so he was able to snag them for me.
They definitely needed a rebuild, but that was advertised. Once I got into them, things got weird. I needed to revalve them to play nice with my Saw bypass shocks, but the shim sizes were the wrong I.D. compared to what was on the chart. After some deep thought and asking around, it turned out these Saw's had Icon shafts and seal heads! Wtf!
So I ordered Saw seals off Ebay (43 bucks and showed up quick) and picked up Icon seal kit and new shim stacks from Sdhq locally. I'm definitely a function before form kinda guy, but the springs that came with the shocks looked terrible. I cracked my piggy bank and sent them off to get a fresh red powder coat, they came out great!
I cleaned and scuffed every bit of the shocks, painted the resivours and coil over body (below the threads) with silver Steel-it paint. The collars were beat, but a little flap disc and a chamfer bit perked them right up. Painted the collars and seats with black Steel-it. After that it was simply a matter of swapping out the seals, o-rings, and valves, then reassembly.
Next will be install and retune the bypass to suit.

100% agree. My center pieces looked like crap even after a sanding attempt. Finally said screw it and ordered these -

Not the best but not complaining. For $24 bones, good enough.

Sad part was I paid a "professional" $100 to do that. Had to go back and tell him he did a half ass job. He made it right, but dang.
