Monthly So Cal Off-Road Run

When I was fresh out of high school my family had a jeep that I would take out to Maple Springs with some friends. My parents were not well off or anything they just told me that if I broke anything or totaled the car it would be 100% my responsibility and I would have to pay for everything ( I had been working since I was 15 and 1/2) . Granted maple springs is just a fire road, but I was by far the most cautious teenager on those days lol

But I agree, I hardly let my friends/family drive my truck especially if im not in the truck with them

 

yeah I guess I would if I knew I could trust my kid with it, I guess I'll find out in the next 16 years haha.

But yeah I never let anyone drive my truck if I can help it, not so much worried about cosmetic damage or the like but more worried about my clutch, mostly.

Watched a kid at America's Tire pull my truck into the bay and burned my clutch up the entire time, it was painful

 

Yeah my heart hurts for you man. My first taco was a MT and a couple of my friends wanted to learn how to drive stick and me, being a foolish kid, I taught them (or tried to) in my truck and it never quite drove the same after.

 

I learned to drive a MT by driving my Eclipse GT home from the dealership late at night

 

what is a cabin air filter for 1000 Alex. Wish i had one....I also wish i had a pick of you from the baja trip lol. You had mexico in every pore of your face lol. Runnin in a group with your window down lol

 

Yet again another reason I don’t rely on my AC to work

 

Mine wernt a POP, more like a BANG gunshot sound. Didnt help that i was almost out of PB blaster though.

 

lol yeah my lower ball joint was more of a BANG, startled me every time. Was like being a kid and cranking a Jack in the Box

 

I always thought of places like Americas tire, Jiffy lube ect workers were fresh out of school C average ASE certified employees.

 

What time do you think you’ll get to the gas station? Might be easier for me to meet and find you guys there since this will be my first time on coxey.

 

@tmachine and I plan on heading out from Escondido at 7:30 and will be a little over a 2 hour drive. I suspect us pulling into the gas station around 9:30.

yeah dude if you want to come along you're more than welcome to, some guys are meeting at the gas station below then the group is meeting at the trail head at 10am

I might see you guys at that gas station, gonna see what my fuel gauge looks like when I get there. If there's no strong head wind coming up the Cajon Pass I'll probably be good, if there is then I go through half a tank just climbing that grade lol

Sorry I didn’t make it out to this run. I found a brand new tapui RTT for $500 and I couldn’t take the chance it would be there on Sunday.

 

Nice meeting everybody out today. Great people and very nice looking rigs, we had a lot of fun.
