correct but the freedom (non contract) plan does give you the option to suspend if you get hurt like me and cant use it 2 months after you bought it.

I will probably only use mine 3 or 4 months in a year so that’s the way I will go and normally the cheapest one.

If you go with the cheapest plan just make sure to not turn the tracking feature on.

At least fire crews saved the apple orchard and ancient alligator juniper. Everything else along that 30 mile passage is toast.

While not directly camping related, I figure this would be the best place to find what I'm looking for. My new work vehicle is a Tahoe. After having trucks for the past decade that I could store tons of stuff in the bed, I'm having to downsize a bit. I want to find a full size, collapsible shovel. Not a "camping" or "survival" shovel. I need a regular, full size spade that has a handle that can fold in half, or similar. All I can find so far are the multi-tool survival tactical assault shovels (which I already carry in my EDC bag).

Sorry for the large picture but has anyone used a small pressure cooker like this for boiling water at high altitude?

    Thanks

Lightweight pressure cookers are in common use for cooking rice up high to save fuel. We used them some with fresh foods in the Rockies and Alaska. Seldom used anymore if favor of wholly or partially pre-cooked foods (then dried) to save weight (food and fuel) and cook time.

Anyone have any recommendations for multi day hunting backpacks?

I rock an osprey Aether 85 (or Argon, can’t remember) but taking an elk hunting trip in CO in October and considering purchasing a new pack for this trip.

    Thoughts? Experiences?

If you’re going to be carrying the pack while hunting or strapping a rifle, bipod, meat, etc on it I would recommend something much heavier duty than an Osprey.

Yes, the hope is that I’ll be packing meat out on the pack as well as gear. I’ve put about 60lbs in the osprey max so I know that it’s gonna get much heavier and was on the fence about its capabilities. Up to that 60lb mark, it’s done extremely well

I'm waiting to score a fire pit on the cheap...think it'll be a good add to truck camping gear.

I got mine on the cheap.
But, I am impressed that it works so well.

    Just the basics
Spending a few days out around Owens Valley and everything minus my shower are performing great. Used both solostoves at different locations and conditions.

Currently enjoying breakfast bug free inside the ARB room.

    20190702_085210.jpg

After finally using the ARB room I'm a convert. It was so nice to hang out with the three walls rolled up to allow the breeze to flow through. Made breakfast and lunch inside. I will say that the 6x8 version I have could be a bit tight for two people the way I have mine set up. I'd say if you can afford the larger version awning and room those would be the better set up due to having more space.

Water will still get hotter than you can drink when you boil it to 194º instead of 212º. It won't get to 205º in Denver, Phoenix or Albuquerque Starbucks either.

I hear that, just trying to get as close to a good cup of tea as possible. I most likely won’t get a good Tannic Reaction anyway but willing to try. Thanks.
