they are heavy but last forever. I like you can use as a step ladder or open all the way as an extension. we used them in the Air force daily. I have a costco brand one now I use.

Any of y’all have recent experience/knowledge in vinyl plank vs laminate flooring? Been to a few places and it seems laminate has come a long way in recent years as far as durability, water resistance, scratch proof, etc and is better in some cases than the vinyl plank. Price is appealing too. With 3 active large dogs scratching and spilling water and stuff we want really resistant. Thoughts or recent experiences?

Is it aluminum? The height doesnt really bother me its more the possibility of the feet kicking out;) just have to put some stakes in the the ground by the feet so it doesnt kick out.

First improvements on our house! Cleaned up a bunch of lumber and weeds from under our deck & then placed down paver sand, weed proof fabric, & concrete blocks so that our dogs can enjoy shade when it’s hot out & not get to wet or muddy after it rains. Also power washed the siding

Nice. I've been looking at barndominium plans online. What size/style are you building? Is it house, shop, or a combination?

Nice. The plans I'm looking at are combo (house/shop), as well.

Did you have a builder/contractor put up the shell, and you're finishing out the interior? What do you project your final build cost to be? If you don't mind my asking.

Had the place where we bought it install on slab.
I got some help on loft and deck. I’m finishing it out myself. As far as cost I’m just paying as I go. I want to have some wow features. Like some pallet cabinets and washtub kitchen sink etc

    Ugh....

Yesterday, HD delivered the new washer and dryer that I bought a couple weeks ago but didn't hook up the dryer vent because it doesn't come out of the wall far enough. They suggested a few parts that I could pickup at HD to extend it, but the HD app said the closest store didn't have the parts. I drove about 3 hrs round trip to pickup the parts this morning. After I got home, I pulled the entire vent out of the wall and found that it was f'ed (clogged with so much lint that it wasn't closing and had a hole corroded through the tube itself). Drove to the nearest HD (1 hr round trip drive) to look for a through wall dryer vent hoping that the HD app was wrong about their stock. Luckily, the app was wrong, and they did have the vents. They also had all the other parts that I had bought earlier, so I could have saved myself 2 hrs of driving. Of course, now that I've got all the parts, thunderstorms are rolling through, and Ihave to go to the laundromat and grocery shopping for the week. I'll have to try to get it squared away after work this week. :frusty: :frusty:

    What do you guys/gals think?
This is the new dinette area, we currently don't really have a dinette setup because we only have a small table in the kitchen. We want to do a tall table but I had an idea, we could build a booth along the right wall that circles the end below the windows leaving the left side of the table open for 2-3 tall chairs, plus a tall chair at the end if we need the extra seating.
From the exterior wall (at what would be the end of the table) to the door jamb is just over 11', and from the interior wall to the exterior wall is 11' as well.

I think I would skip the booth idea. It's kinda out dated these days plus it's not like you can fit a ton more ppl in a booth than you would with chairs or stools where the booth will go. Unless you plan to and need to have the booth for additional storage, its just not worth it , too permanent.

A buddy of mine digs a hole and puts a 5 gallon bucket in it with the lip just an inch or two above grade, then puts just enough water in it for the rat/mouse to drown, and then sprinkles bird seed and other attractive snacks over the water, so the mouse/rat jumps in and drowns. His kill rate is very...successful. To put it mildly

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Used one all weekend for siding and roof work. It is heavy but as others have said; a very functional ladder. It has some flex but it can handle my fat ass plus shingle bundles without issue.

I'd go w/ laminate, like you said, much better than vinyl. Has had laminate in my rental for several years now & holding up just great. Also, just did my sister's basement w/ vinyl, and my old man & I were disappointed that we couldn't convince her to go another route (we'd prefer tiles in this case).
