I can see from the photo your rear diff pumpkin is angled. The output shaft of your transfer case and the input shaft of your differential housing need to be parallel to each other, and typically parallel to the ground unless they install a double-cardan joint on the output of the transfer case, in place of the u-joint.

I think that’s going to be your issue. It won’t be tire balance. The problem is the phasing of the output shaft as discussed in one of the vids I shared above.

My old man has a 6" Pro Comp on his 2nd Gen that I installed 11 years ago. Had the same vibration issues. Ended up installing traction bars to limit axle wrap and a Tom Woods driveshaft and it's vibration free. A 6" kit on these Tacoma's is a ton of lift and isn't as simple as just slapping it on there.

These trucks have shakes, shimmies, vibrations since 2005 be it stock, lifted, whatever. OP says 65mph plus it feels bad, that spells tire balancing to me.

If you watch the second video I posted, and talk to people with this amount of lift, driveline vibrations at specific/certain speeds are a real issue. I don’t have a crystal ball, but my money is on that. However it could be a bad tire. I’ve just never had that problem or heard of that problem on low-profile tires like OP is running. Typically those balance pretty good with so much less rubber.

Anyways....let’s both hope OP gets good help whether it’s a balance issue or otherwise.

I'm getting off on a tanget, but I believe the Tacoma vibrations are a result of the composite bed.

I went from the 2012 Tacoma to the 2005 Tundra because the Taco vibrations were so irritating. 2005 Tundra Access Cab is pretty much the same dimensions as a 2012 Tacoma, except the Tundra has a steel bed and is smooth as glass.

Night and day difference. 2005 Tundra has the same two piece drive shaft, same carrier bearing, but zero vibrations, smooth as glass.

What is the difference? Tundra carrier bearing is mounted to a steel bed, Tacoma carrier bearing is mounted to a composite bed. Tundra steel bed provides more structural integrity to all of the rear end as opposed to the Tacoma composite bed.

The Tacoma carrier bearing is bolted to a steel cross member which in turn is mounted to the main frame ‍♂️

So, sorry my friend, but this ^^^^ is grade “A” BS.

The carrier bearing on a Tacoma is under the cab. In my double cab, it sits at the center line between the front and rear doors, basically right under the drivers seat. It is nowhere near the bed. Even on the access cab, it would be right under the cab.

So you have an interesting theory, but it’s based on a lack of knowledge about how these trucks are constructed.

Maybe it’s different on the DBLCB long bed? Likely not, but OP has a short bed like mine anyways.

I highly doubt the carrier bearing on a Tundra is under the bed either. That would make for some really crazy driveshaft angles.

    Anyways..........

It’s too late. It has a DB lift and the frame has already been cut up. Can’t go back to stock.

Subframe/frame all kinds of crap. I don’t know precisely because I don’t have a drop bracket lift. DB lifts aren’t bolt on/bolt off lifts.

Edit: Can’t go back to stock without major fabrication & cost & headache.

    My money is on this.
Tacomas have bad axle wrap; rear lift blocks make it even worse.
I'd get a the proper leaf springs for lift; something with a reinforcement half leaf on top. Then see if the driveshaft needs replacement after lengthening. Then mess with angles. Then decide if ladder bars are still needed ; I'd probably try something like the Roadmaster suspension first.

Does your steering wheel vibrate also? Vibration at that speed points to unbalanced tires. If I were you I’d have the tires road force balanced. Have your truck re aligned . Seems like your truck had a bad alignment job.
