    Question for you guys.

My emblems have been plast-dipped for over 3 years now. The color has faded slightly and the tops of the emblems are starting to have chrome shining through again.

I'd like to touch these up with another 2-3 coats, but is it okay to just clean the hell out of these emblems, then apply new coats right over the top of the existing coats? In my mind this should be fine, but just looking for feedback from anyone else that's touched theirs up in the past.

    Hey West,

If your Plastidip is in good shape other than the fading, I would just go over it with a couple coats. It should bring back the colour again. I had good luck in the past. Just make sure it’s super clean. Good luck and happy dipping!

Thanks for the heads up! Think I'll be doing some taping in the next couple of weeks.

Don't think those will last long. I did the trim where you step right on the inside of the door and it lasted mayyybe a week? Couple days tops.

I also didn't use three full cans. So maybe yours will last longer? Maybe I get into my truck too aggressively?

Wheels and door badge done. Brass monkey plasti dip is the color. Used 4 cans of color and 3 cans of glossifier. I like how they came out. We shall see how they hold up.

I have a super white with a chrome bumper and grill surround that I plan on going over with white plasti dip but I forgot to buy glossifier with it so have to go back for that. But I also bought black to do the grill because its faded and do my badges with the remaining. My truck also has the black side mirrors and door handles that are starting to look a little faded, would the plasti dip be alright to use on those as well?
edit: Do I let the white plasti dip dry before putting on the glossifier or just do the glossifier as if it was another coat of white?

Heck ya just tape off the door handles and spray them with plastidip. You can spray your whole truck
    It works awesome.

Correct. You dont need glossifier only if you want shinny. I use plastidip by itself and nothing else.20190614_171105.jpg 20190614_171105.jpg 20190616_231557.jpg

Sweet, once weather clears up and I get some glossifier my truck will have a whole new look. Thanks!

Ya have fun with it. You can do your hood I mean everything and take off if you dont like. Be creative and tape off surrounding area and make your truck look like new.

I had the badges done in brass monkey for a while but I wanted a little more of a bronze look and some gold flake. I added some gold pearl and some gold metalizer. The badges came out great but idk about the wheels yet. I'll have to see how they look in the daylight.

Tried to get rid of the chrome, messed up by doing the black first. Shade isn’t really the same but still would much rather have this than chrome. Think i’m just going to redo the entire thing because i’m a perfectionist and there are also small bubbles on the white because the gloss dripped when i shook the can. (there’s tape in the sides still just figured i’d leave it in if im going to retry)
I also had some of the black peel off because I applied masking tape to it to cover for the white. If I let it dry longer before would that solve the problem?

Put some gold alloy dip pearl over my brass monkey wheels and badges. I was hoping for more of a bronze look but this is ok for now.
Also put some gloss vinyl on the B pillars, looks much better than the OEM satin wrap that was on there

Thanks, believe it or not, up close its filthy and needs a bath. My detailing regimen leaves it pretty glossy though. I use a lot of carpro products which I love and also P&S beadmaker every few washes. Its due for a wash this weekend.

The all solid gold was killing me. I added a piece of gloss black vinyl to the center cap, o think it breaks things up a little. Idk if I'll add emblem back on, or maybe paint it, or get a decal

I put these on my center. Used silicone so I can change at will. They look stock.
