It's insane. My brother lives 10 minutes from me, in a town that I share my zip code with. He has 3 acres and a house smaller than our business' and his taxes are like 10-12k a year. His town does keep things up and looking nice though, and the roads are always clear all winter long. Most of them have similar tax rates though and don't do nearly as good of a job.

If the town is giving you great services in return for your money, I have no problem with high rates. Tax as a much as the people are willing to vote for. But it's when some of these towns take so much, while offering so much less... You know it's all mismanaged. Then they sit there and bitch about how other towns have things and "why don't we have that".

I went to a discussion about solar panels and batteries etc... the other night. Put on my two neighboring towns who are pooling together to get an installer to do bulk pricing. Someone from Adams (which we were talking about a few posts up) asks "Can we get the same rates? Did you reach out to my town about this?" He was all offended that they weren't reached out to and had quite the attitude when asking. The response?

"Yes, we reached out a few times but they said they didn't have the time"

Ain't shit going on in Adams...they just aren't willing to do real things to help anyone. Too busy stopping new businesses from coming to town and making laws about dog poop on the walking paths...:frusty:

I hate gov't so I'll just end my ranting now

Believe anything you want. I'd work till 5:00, get home around 5:30 eat or whatever and hit the road about 6:30. Get right through over the Bourne Bridge around 7:30. Like I said I wasn't in any kind of rush but never had any problem.

I find the trouble isn't necessarily getting to the cape, it's getting around once you are there. When I lived there, between Memorial and Labor day I did everything I could to avoid left turns because you'll be sitting there forfuckingever. I'd drive 5 minutes out of my way to make only right turns.

Tumbleweed Tuesday was the best day on earth. Even the cops got more relaxed when the tourists evacuate the area.

Another great day at Barrett-Jackson down at Mohegan Sun! It's funny, Toyota was there with all the new TRD Pro models, and they had a nice lineup of older Pickups as well (1984 SR5 pictured):

Going across the block later today, there was a 1970's Nissan Patrol, which I have never seen before (it looks like a mix between a Land Rover and a Land Cruiser!):

Happy Weekend NE'ers. Yesterday it became pretty clear to me that I definitely overlook Walmart for basic maintenance supplies, I get M1 dirt cheap there...i have no reason to switch to anything else when the most I've paid is $25 for 5qt jug, but come to find out they actually sell Toyota filters there as well. I either never noticed or they just started not too long ago, just over $6...can't remember exactly. Happy to save a few bucks instead of getting my usual M1 filter as well. Is that price pretty on par with what you can get them bulk at a dealer from or are they usually cheaper? Again...it's still better than the 9+ I normally pay for a mobil filter.

I normally pay like $5.30 I think for a single filter at the dealer. I need to just bulk buy, especially the cartirdges for the tundra

See I figured a dealer would be a bit cheaper. Getting a case would be a smart move, a parent of two of my athletes runs a Quick Lane out of a Toyota dealer in Laconia...he gives me discounts on a lot of things I wonder if parts/supplies could be one of them :spending::spending::spending:

Shhh, if you listen real carefully you can hear the bed seam rusting. Beautiful truck even if it's in my least favorite color ever.

I was here last night, Supercharged Entertainment in Wrentham. Pricey, but the best karting track I've tried so far. Their flagging crew could use some help, but otherwise it was a blast. I got deliberately hit by a woman after she pushed me into the wall when I tried to pass her. I finally got beside her and she turned in. She was 12 seconds slower a lap than me and refused to let people pass. Otherwise it was a good time.

We were laughing at how Toyota used to build beds, thankfully they changed them. All of the early trucks Toyota brought out looked like they came from a museum, they were in perfect shape.

Normally hate the rain, but I was supposed to water my lawn today and really didn't want to go drag the hoses around and find the sprinklers...then move them around all morning. Two hours of light to medium rain are going to take care of that for me real nice.

Two meetings later today, pretty easy usually so I'm not too worried. Then the afternoon is being spent on the couch!

Any one ever have their Ebrake freeze up? I'm currently on the trail, camped over night with mild water yesterday. Went to leave this morning and its stuck, truck wont move (stalls). Thanks. Going to start removing tension manually..
