Try finding a "manual physical therapist" it's like a cross between a massage and chiropractor. Best thing that has ever happened to my back by far

Thats a unique practice - whats the procedure? Firm press massage? Or a little of both back and forth?

I know it has a reputation for being a bit of a "girly" thing, but some basic yoga can also help with back issues. And as a bonus, you don't necessarily have to pay to do it. It has helped with some of my lower back issues (mild scoliosis). Unfortunately it wasn't enough to help my neck. I've had 2 separate 2 level fusions. One about 8 years ago and one last year. I now have C2 thru C6 fused together with 3 plates, 14 screws and several pieces of cadaver bone.

They do a lot of different things, mainly muscle manipulation to pulls the bones back to the way they should be. One things she did was run something that resembled the handle of a butterknife around the edges of the back muscles, which got them to relax and worked the knots out of them. Hurt a bit while she was doing it, but I seriously felt like I was walking on a cloud when I was leaving.
I guess it would be like firm press, with a combination of chiropractic to get things straight, and work the muscles over to keep it straight
