if anyone does the no-drill install please post up what bolts you went with, i'm planning on looking for new bolts next week. unless drilling the shroud doesn't have an effect if you go back to stock?

Don't hold me to it, but I believe some 1.5" long #8 bolts is what is needed. With the current batch, with a #8, you'll likely need a washer to help keep the bolt head from digging into the hole. On the next revision of these, we are going to shrink the bolt hole to allow for no-drill bolt installs.

I still plan on work on it but it's still going to take some time to get everything lined up right with our sensor bracket.

 

those grilles look so mean. Can you customize the lettering to say something else?

 

Yeah, I can do custom lettering but that "sharp" font we use, I don't have a handful of letters drawn up; it's something I made from the ground up and don't have the full alphabet.

More than likely we'll need to use a different font for a custom grille, but as long as you know the name of the font you want to use and have the file for it then we can make it.

So, after roughly 2 weeks, here's the tally of the installs that I'm aware of for the free* grilles.

Since the giveaway, 0 sales of this grille through our website and I'm back to square one (sitting on a bunch of stuff that I can't sell). On many levels, I feel like this was a big fail on my end; more so than I genuinely expected. I guess like I've lost touch with what owners want, because it's obviously not this grille.

For what it's worth, I did finish up a 2018+ prototype. If anyone is interested in buying it, I'll take $250 shipped on it; this is a discounted price because of prototype. There are 5 spots to drill for the TSS bracket on the stock grille. The bolts on the outer perimeter I shrunk down to allow for (hopefully) a no-drill install for the grille itself; other than the TSS bracket drilling.

If more than one person is willing to purchase it, we can start a group buy for some. Price would be $249 for a plain one; $279 for a "TACOMA" lettered one with a raw aluminum back plate.
