ECO boost = garbage! I did a LOT of research on the F150 when I bought my Tundra. The ECO boost is a great idea, but you better hope you have a warranty when the Turbos go out. And it's not if they go it... it's when. They all have issues.

^^ this. For what I paid for my Tundra, I could have got a WAY "nicer" F150 or RAM or Chevy. But, Toyota is still IMO the most reliable full size half ton on the market. My Tundra is going to roll 100k miles this year. I'm hoping 2020 gets a refresh but still has the 5.7 iForce because I'll probably pick one up.

Everybody always worries about the turbos on the Ecoboosts, but diesels have had turbos for decades now. There’s quite a few high mileage ecoboosts out there. My g-pa is hitting 100k on his without issue. We use the Ecoboosts in our patrol cars and have yet to have issues. The highest mileage on them is like 60-70k, but they have a ton of idle time and they get driven hard often.

The main issues I’ve read people complain about is timing chain and water pump issues, but I’ve yet to see that in person.

Tundra’s don’t have what I’m looking for. They don’t even have a diff locker option. They haven’t been updated in years. It’s dependable, but an aging drivetrain that gets garbage mpg. I’m die hard Toyota but Ford is leading the way with innovation for mpg and power. My g-pa has a 2011 f150 with the 3.5 ecoboost, and he’s had over 100k trouble free miles. The new f150s are even better.

My PD is also running the 3.5 Ecoboosts in our patrol cars. I think the highest mileage on them is between 60-70k, and we’ve yet to have an engine issue. While the mileage isn’t very high, police miles are hard. Tons of idle time, and a lot of high rpm, high speed runs.

I think that’s what makes the tundra so great, the incredible reliability from a solid and refined foundation. Sure, the motor hasn’t been updated in a few years. But why fix it if it’s not broke? Ultimately it’s your decision, I’m just giving my unwanted .02 :)
