Thanks, I’m a TTC member and did an ATX C&C in May. Into overlanding more than crawling and looking for more events.

 

Nice! When we do hidden falls trips, we do a lot of camping. It's a good chance to hang out and use some of the gear. I'm heading on a 2500-ish mile trip in less than a week to northern New Mexico and South-western Colorado with some TTC guys (overland trip) and I know @riz_atx is going on a Colorado trip in August.

@Mrprotaganist and @riz_atx vehicle camp and travel the overland routes the most, from what I know.

 

Haven’t heard about any of these trips

Dont be afraid to find a lodge close by and check them out. We're a dying breed so the more young guys interested the better. If you want to join then you need to ask to join. We cant make that decision for you. Come to dinners, get to know everyone and after a few visits maybe ask for a petition. I will say this though, if there are several in your area then try them all out and see which one, if any, seem like a good fit.

 

I like camping and I like off-roading. When there's a crossover, I'm there. I'm the leave no trace type, so there's that, too.

These have always confused me because I hear all the land is private. Some you even have to go through gates. Is that true? And they’re all cool with it?

 

Yep. There was 3 or 4 gates you need to open, then close after passing through. It's normal when passing between ranch plots on public roads. You're literally sandwiched between different plots, but that makes it cool at the same time. Only ranchers and cows go where you go.
