    That Galvanizing place in Oakland is pretty reasonable. There is also one in Modesto. They do it by the pound. Have it galvanized THEN powder coated. You can weld galvanized, Just grind off the galvy where you are going to weld. Certainly slows down the rust. Would probably still be around when you are long gone unless you live in the rust belt. A friend does this a lot for railings he fabs for Beach homes.

    I've hauled Railings, ornamental pieces, structural steel fabs, Lamp posts and a lot of custom gates. The galvy really works. I was going to have my Studebaker frame galved but decided the Tacoma was a better, More Fun place to throw my money.

    Back in the sixties I was paying 24.9 for a fill up. Yeah I know I'm Old. I saw it as low as 19.9. At the rate we've gone you'll be paying $64.00 a gallon in 50 years. Lots of luck.
