So the rear 24mm differential fill plug is frozen on tight. PDBlaster and heat did not assist in removing that bolt. The corners are now rounded off some and I am at a loss for a resolution. Any ideas on how to remove this? I will buy a new fill plug/bolt and washers but I need to get this off. Thanks!

Get a 6 point 24 mm socket. You are working on a 2016? Shouldn’t be that much corrosion. Do you have a breaker bar? 18-24 inch?

What did you apply the heat with?

Since you’re getting a new plug, heat it again and get on it with a freshly jawed pipe wrench. The bigger the better.

If its rounded, only a high quality wrench or socket will grab it now.

With rounded fill plugs, I use an air chisel, but a normal one will do.

I chisel in a dent on the plug, then walk the dent around to loose the bolt. Very easy.

More heat you didn’t get it hot enough...heat the area just around the bolt. If your rounding the corners you don’t have proper leverage...get a longer bar keep the socket square on the bolt.

I used a torch but ddi t want to over do it. I have a breaker bar and used a 12 point socket. I'll see if I can find a 6 point.

I worked on an S10 last year that had a frozen diff plug, I threw some heat on it and put a floor jack under my breaker bar and pumped it loose.

Just a small warning... if you get it red, that's fine. If you get it white, wait a minute or so or else you'll twist the head off.

My Robo Grip did little to help. I'll try more heat.

OP, show us some pics of the rounded off plug and what you’re working with. Because if you have a pencil torch and a little robo grip we may need to step back and re evaluate.
