    according to tacoma tire calculator.
245/75r16 is roughly 30.5 inches tall. and a 265/75r16 is 31.65 inches tall. roughly...1" inch taller tire. (depending on tire brand) so how does that Translate to truck height.
does that mean installing a 1" bigger tire makes truck rise roughly "1/2" inch from ground??? and a 255/85r16 (33.07) would be 1.25 inches from original height????

Yep, thats right. Since the axle is in the middle of the tire, you get the benefit of the extra size below the mid point

    thanks....thats what i was assuming...
so when buying bigger tires. a good way to mesure if you have room is to turn wheel to closes area of cab where tire may rub and measure how much space you have? so you have an idea of how much a bigger tire will be to the body of vechile....

Ah, if it were only that simple. When buying bigger tires, most times you're looking at both larger diameter and wider. Different wheels are often involved, which brings wheel width and offset into the mix.

This is something I am starting to think about, I have a 16 OR with 43000 miles, if I buy the same Kevlar tires, I can use my spare to save some cost but the tires seem small for the truck, so what is the biggest tire leaving it stock? I don't go off road. I bought it cause it looked good.

You have 265/70r16 and can go to 265/75r16. I dont know if its all that worth it to upgrade that little on the OR. Compare prices and decide. You could still keep your spare since it'd just need to get you home and around until your bigger tire is repaired/replaced.

I wasn't concerned about the spare being smaller. Those tires are expensive and using my spare will save me more than 200.$ I may be able to buy 4 other tires for the same price as the 3, be nice if I could find someone local who went bigger and wants to sell his oem's
