I may be new here, but I am not new to Toyotas or Tacomas. My name is Greg and I am a rare Atlanta native. I am in IT, have a wife, 2 dogs and a mortgage. (Pretty typical stuff). I love vintage guitars, amplifiers etc. My other hobbies include most things outside that require a Tacoma to get you there.

Now that you know a little about me I'll tell you about my love of Toyota. It all started in 1999 when I bought a 2000 Extended cab 4x4 TRD with a 4 banger and 5 speed with manual hubs. I drove that truck for 140,000 miles and climbed, mudded, jumped stumps and pulled down trees. That truck ran as perfect as the day I bought it when I traded it in on an S-Runner 3.5 years later. I kept the S-Runner for about 2 years until I traded it for a brand new 4 Runner. I put 105,000 on the 4 Runner and never did a thing to it but change the oil. (Same thing with the previous 2 in case I didnt mention.) I just sold it about 4 months ago.

In May of 09' I got a wild hair for something small, fast that handled well. For some crazy reason I bought a brand new MAZDASPEED3 turbo. It was awesome and since I had the 4 Runner I still had a utility vehicle. Once I sold the 4 Runner and no longer had anything but the Speed3 and my wife's Cobalt I was in withdrawals. I couldnt even drive down a dirt road anymore.

My wife hated the Speed3 and it was starting to wear on me too so she told me I should sell it and get a truck. I owed less than it was worth so I sold the Speed and replaced it with a certified preowned 08 4 door TRD Prerunner. I cant wait to drive this truck til the wheels fall off.

I will likely keep it just like it is. I have tinted the front windows, got some husky liners and have an iPod adapter on the way. The rest will stay stock.

Glad to be here. I didnt mess with forums while I had my last Tacoma, so this should be fun......off to look for a "How to remove the stock radio so I can add my iPod adapter kit." LOL!

I grew up in Cumming back when it was the country and now live in Sugar Hill which is smack between Cumming and Buford.

No major mods needed on this truck. It is perfect the way it is.

Does this truck have the sealed transmission that uses world standard fluid that you rarely if ever change? Mine is a 5 speed auto.

Also, I am curious if I should change the spark plugs and rear dif fluid. I know I just bought it as a "certified" used, but I dont trust that the dealer actually changed the rear diff and such.

Also, what are your opinions on starting with synthetic motor oil at 32,000 miles?
