I gotta small metal chip in my eye yesterday while I was in installing new bump stops with u-bolt flip:annoyed:
Finished around 6 was beat, tried to get it out but I didn't want to embed it more so I figured I'd go to the walk in clinic in the morning.
    NOPE!!!
Couldn't sleep pain intensified wife drove me to ER at about 230.
Doc got it out but I have a rust ring from it so gotta go see a specialist tomorrow:annoyed:
Sad part is apparently I need to wear safety goggles instead of glasses.
It never fails:rofl: every year I end up at the ER, I think maybe I should just plan ahead for this.

Is this @Skierrichy or @Cativelense ? Sounds like one of his tales. ;-)

Well if you do stuff, stuff happens. Hope you don't end up under a big gauze eye patch.
My sister did that when we were kids - airplane factory tour & somehow she ended up w/ a metal splinter in the eye. Big eye patch.
    Here's wishing you fast healing!

Cut it high and often is the key. No low scalp jobs or waiting til its knee high to mow. Best week control you can do is a pre emergent crabgrass preventer. Crabgrass in CT when it gets warm ruins lawns. Keeping it mowed high helps shade the weeks out and the preemergent crabgrass control needs to go on early, whenit's still cold out, around Easter when the forsythia is starting to bloom. Those are the most important steps IMO. Also once you put down the crabgrass control, dont dig, plant, rake in your grass for a few weeks. If you wanna plant new seed do it in the fall like sept or Oct using a bluebird overseeder with a fall blend and starter fertilizer.
I do NOT water my lawn btw

That is a great looking lawn, and I'm shocked you can keep it looking like that all summer without any water! Do you have some decent shade? A lot of my companies lawn is in direct sun for 8+ hours a day, without water it browns up bad in july-august. We use a organic fert probably every month or two in the summer, not as strong as the regular ones so needs more applications.

What height do you mow at? I'm usually around 3 3/4, but I've heard people who like 4+. This year I've stopped the use of weed killer and trying to get a good mix of grass and clover. Hoping the clover helps with nitrogen levels and building up the turf.

Now off to go start watering this morning!!

Had to post lawn pics. Mowed last week and had a wedding this weekend, still in good shape but some brown showing on some blades. Also might notice like I said we got some clover growing in there, trying to keep lawn care bills down and keep grass greener and build a more durable turf. I throw down about 1/2 inch of compost with two 1/4 inch or so spreads a year and hopefully in a few years I will have a super durable turf, and maybe will work on getting yard back to all grass. Lawn is 2 1/2 years old right now and we didn’t put screened topsoil down, just used what was in the field originally.

Lost my driver side mirror yesterday evening to a boulder (roughly 4-5" diameter) that was hurdling down rt 84 just east of Waterbury. I saw it and at first I thought it was a crumpled up paper bag but then I realized it was a rock and swerved right to avoid it but not far enough. Could have been much worse. Wondered if something that size could have come through the windshield. Maybe at the right angle it could have but most likely would have smashed the glass but just bounced up and over. Could have hit the A pillar or a headlight, grill, hood.... Glad it was just the side mirror. So anyway - I'm looking for a replacement. Always wanted to swap in the blinker mirrors but I'd have to have them painted and buy two since they didn't make speedway blue for the 2012-2015's that had the blinker mirrors.

upgrade to T4R mirrors. Theyre power adjustable, have blinkers, heated, and have puddle lights. I did it on my 08 and love it.

You don't realize how much you use them until one is gone. I'm guessing it was stuck between the double tires on the back of a tractor trailer and came loose on the highway. So right after it happened some tool in a beat up 90's sedan comes up along side me looking over at me and shaking his head. I guess he must have gotten hit by or came close to being hit by my mirror and hadn't noticed the boulder that slammed it off my truck. Guessing he thought it just fell off my truck like I had been driving around with it dangling by a thread. Does my truck look like I'm the type that would do that?

Mine had 3 wires (purple, red and brown) for the adjustable mirror. Any idea what the harness looks like for the T4R with all that. Really only interested in the blinkers but not sure I want to get involved with all that right now. Have a lot going on and probably will just end up swapping in an already painted SWB mirror if I can find one at a junker.

At least the wire harness is in tact so if I find replacement it will just be a 5 minute bolting on job.

I belive its 7 wires for the T4R mirrors. You'd have to run some wires and whatnot. It took me a few hours but i had to make an entire harness. I never had power mirrors before lol
