Here’s how I look at it—

Money for the class went into a “good ol boy” that is local’s pocket. Mine specifically was a Wilmington PD officer and lord knows our officers could use a bit of a pay raise for what they do.

The money to to sheriff I like to think is put toward good use with the local PD

Charge me what you want, as long as it isn’t over the top, I’ll pay it as long as I’m not sending a check to the feds. All my money stays somewhat local.

    Just my .02

On CCW prices, IL was fun.

    $150-250 for classes, 2 days.

    $150 for application.

$90 for the fingerprints to make the application not take 120 days

Also, bring a handgun and enough rounds to qualify, 30 minimum. My total came to 430, which is more than the damn gun I qualified with cost me.

    Holy hell.

WA (King Co.) is $32-$50 depending on 1st application, renewal / late renewal or replacement. Although, I-1639 goes into affect today, so that may increase the cost a little.

PA is $20, no classes or anything needed. In most counties you can go from "hey maybe I should have a carry permit" to getting one in 20 min.

    Too much.
NH - free (for now w/constitutional carry), or $10 for a 5 year Pistol & Revolver permit.

Permit gives reciprocity in a bunch of states, only reason I get it....

My whole process is probably gonna be close to your numbers when complete.

On Guam, you need a non-concealed firearms ID before a CC. I had neither.

$47 fee for FBI background check.
    $34 for fingerprinting.
    $43 for the non-concealed ID.
$49 for local PD to register and inspect firearm.

    Then

$150 for basic and advanced firearms safety course.
$103 for processing and CC ID.

    Just shy of $300.

I basically spent a little over $1k for the gun and CC process. Also takes about a months time.

If by a couple you mean Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, then yes I guess only a couple states recognize resident PA ltcf.

The county I live in in Virginia (Prince William) waives the permit fee which is state mandated at $50. So free for me, price of taking a class varies upon where you go to take it. No class required if prior MIL.

Personal Opinion: If $76 is make or break for having a CC permit, then you probably cant afford to own a firearm with the proper holster to even carry it.

Guess I didn't realize how much the requirements and fees varied from state to state. Pretty lame.

I was under the impression that states that don’t require a in person course don’t have reciprocity in states that do require one.

    I’m certainly no expert

There are some that do and some that don't.

No sure of it's accuracy but this seems to be straightforward.

No worries. That website isn't entirely accurate either.
Best thing to do, if traveling outside your home state, is to contact destination/pass through states directly.

I am not sure the cost was the issue, I understood it to be, and still understand it to be, that being required to pay money to anyone to exercise your God given right to self protection is lame...………….

or you can get a few non-resident permits and increase the number you are permitted to carry concealed.

and of course, there are some states that do not recognize anyone else's permit.
