Good luck, my head hurt after looking at so many, reading reviews and after a while I just ordered one.

That’s what I did when I got that one. Finally said hell with it. It’s a damn temp probe. All I need is wireless so I can sit my ass on the couch and know when to go check on it. Not much fun smoking food by yourself.

Thanks! Never thought to do tater tots on the grill or smoker. I usually make a tater tot casserole for work once a year. This year it will be smoked, I had never even considered smoking it

Yeah Saturday index was 100° and all life ceased to exist. No movement, no one out anywhere. But 20 below zero and blizzard yet everyone is outside and driving around. Was supposed to be index of 105° here yesterday but storm front came through about noon and temps dropped. I got up at 5 AM to go shoot 5 stand and had enough by 11, I was drenched in sweat and must have drank a gallon of water.

I heard there is a red kettle out your way that would make a great sear station... :anonymous:

I want to get a dual probe one. Before I had 2 of the wireless CharBroil ones just because I can buy them at Char-Broil’s outlet here for $5 a piece. They got rained on and that was it for them though.

Tried something new on these racks. Got some carbonated Apple Cider to spritz them with while cooking.

Lady at the DG said they sell a lot of these. Lol

I did some a while back with orange juice squeezed over them while cooking. Then sliced the orange up in slices and laid it on top of the ribs. Those turned out damn good!

I was only going to get it because the location was near where I was drinking beer. I only offered $10 less than he posted it for. Guess I’ll keep looking

We're kinda lucky here. This is the headquarters for Charbroil and Masterbuilt.

How's that one do? Only electric one I've ever used was a Bradley.

Congrats on the new smoker Rob!

I trust both of my remote reading units. But you will pay more for them then than most of the cheap junk out on Amazon.

ThermoWorks 2 channel Smoke is spot on as is all ThermoWorks products.

The 4 channel for the ATC is also dead nuts

But I seldom use more than 2 meat probes

Murph if I told you then it wouldn't be sorcery anymore!

ThermoWorks is more prosumer\commercial equipment. Most is made in England and better electronics and design, and able to do calibration to NIST standards. They also sell a professional line.

The 2 channel Smoke is IP65 rated which means it should be able to sit in the rain, although I still cover mine if it is raining. You can get a variety of probes for them including submersible probes if you want.

They don't sell on Amazon anymore too many knockoffs claiming to be them so you have to purchase directly from them. They aren't the only ones it is more and more common.

If you sign up for their newsletter you get emails when they have sales if you wait you can get it for 20% or so off.

For instant read thermometers the ThermoPop is reasonably priced and still reads fast. But the Gold Standard is the Thermapen Mk4 if you have ever watched any cooking shows or BBQ competitions you have seen it before. I own several of the ThermoPop's for home, camping, grilling, kitchen, etc. Never felt the need for the Mk4 although have want one for a long time.

Damn it Murph you're going to cost me money, the Mk4 is on sale right now for 20% off if you get it in red, white, or blue. Hmmm....
