Next up, Idaho?
Mexico for me in a few years. Near San Carlos /Guymas area. Then motor home back to the states in summer.

 

Noooooo!!!!! Don’t go anywhere in Idaho it’s a horrible, terrible, no good place. Especially From CDA up to the border. It’s really really gross.

Someone was looking for USFS or state camps with a pit toilet or honey bucket, etc. some have tables and fire pit, some not so I always bring table and chairs, and a collapsible Snellfab fire pit! (@JimSnell) I have found this useful. You can get from ranger stations in the forest you are in or maybe order online. I use the shit out of these, and they are pretty accurate. I always check either OSX or another app for closures 1st tho, cause... paper..

That Takhlakh Lake campsite has a phenomenal view of mt Adams but holy crap are the mosquitos bad!

I have family that live between spirit lake and priest river, I go up there any long weekend that I can.

That being said, I only go so I can see my family. It is indeed a horrible place. Never have fun up there.

 

I’m heading to CDA tomorrow morning.

 

Nastily lil town on the plain. Horrible winds and ice and snow in winter. Cold as f.
Notwithstanding it’s near grand targhee, Jackson hole, and about a million other awesome places during summer, the winters SUCK!

Nice the lake looks like it filled up! Did you take the mining road a few hundred feet before the lake. There is a nice spot up there.
