Hello, my hood weather strip clips are stripped out and was wondering if anyone knows a part number or what type of clips I need. Mine are stripped.
    Thanks

Really? I thought 00 & older only had one (inner) & not the one on the edge of the hood (outer). 01-04 has two, the OP is missing the inner one.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
Looks like the same clips used to attach the weatherstrip that runs along in front of the cowl.

That's what I have, the inner. You made it sound like the older models didn't have them at all, inner or outer.

The person I quoted was saying he didn't realize there was a seal the front of the hood, he has a 00 so that's why he's never seen it. That's why I replied saying only 01-04 had it.

So should I have 2 seals under my hood? Not just the one I took a picture of?

Yep, you're missing the inner one like shown in my pic above. It seals against the top of the core support in front of the radiator.

is this a terribly critical part for keeping water and rain out of the engine compartment?

i believe i have them as well, but now i am not sure lol

it may be more from bugs getting up there going down the highway :notsure: and wind perhaps?

perhaps water as well but it struggles to keep the power touchless wash from spotting parts going around the truck in various cycles so I have found

your hood surface in front is not straight (sorta curvy) compared to mine, if it makes any difference on aerodynamics?

    now you have good point
i took another look at OP pics and i think my hood protector is fastened into that area at the edge

how does somebody install a hood protector on this model?
does the stripping have to be removed or just fasten over the top/under of it

If you buy OEM it will come with the clips, not sure about aftermarket.

Pep Boys carries a very wide variety of exterior and interior clips; best if you have one old one (even a broken one) to take in to the store to match.[search of Pep Boys web site was unsuccessful] I have seen collections of trim clips at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware and True Value, in the specialty fastener sections (the drawers in the fastener aisles).
