Shouldn't have too the new ones will go in just as easy as the other urethane bushings. They are not molded into an outer steel sleeve like the OE. Lube with some moly grease and pop them bitches in. Getting them out is the hard part.

 

They do have an outer sleeve on them which is why the need to be pressed. Gonna buy the 12 ton HF one for $100 with a coupon.

Just get a piece of pipe that is the same dai as the lip and slip over the bushings part. Put lca part on a vice straddling the jaws and hammer them in. Put some antisieze on the metal sleeve and control arm. Thats the way I've always done bushings like that. Takes less time for finagling and making or setting up a press. In my experience works better too.

Ok. BTW you'll end up hating a press after a few times using it for auto stuff. Takes too much time to set up or you gotta make stuff work etc. I have a whole slew of press dies and sleeves and still prefer to hammer things in. I have more of a feel for it I guess..

Oh if you get a press watch some of the how to upgrade your hf press videos. Also Check out swag off-road they make a cool finger brake for the press than you can bend up to 1/4" as long as you upgrade the hydraulics. Only reason I'd want one is for that

 

But Randy could make one of those Press smashes stuff Youtube channels and make EVEN MORE money for tools!

I guess I am just going to buy the Moog ones. I will keep my OEM ones so should the need arise, I can rehab them without having the truck out of service.

 

Boy oh boy is getting the rubber bushings out a bitch. Only did one arm and stopped for the night.

 

You know, my bushings came right out. Must have been lucky. (Or skilled)

 

Mine most certainly did not. What a pain in the ass.

I’ve seen a couple cases where the eye of the lca come undone. Doubtful I’ll manage to do that, but this is free insurance.
