Think they gave up on me the last time I brought it in for the last visit and saw everything on it and went “Whelp, he ain’t selling that!”

Any ideas what night animals make grunting noises?

Went to let the pup out, heard a grunt and somewhat large rustling in the bushes. Got the pup back inside and snagged the gun. Went back out and grunting now sounded like it was on other side of the fence but it gave the fence a decent bump. Not at all claiming bear size but definitely not bunny size.

Fence is 6 foot privacy fence so if the first noise was the bushes inside the fence (there are some on both sides), it was able to clear the fence.

Have foxes and coyotes in area but have not heard them grunt.

    Could it be a deer?

I would think maybe black bear, but I don’t think they’re jumpers, they’re definitely climbers though.

Potentially, plenty of deer in the area. I would think it would have scattered immediately though vs sticking around and bumping fence. Grunt was fairly deep, but I would guess possible from deer.

I don’t think we have black bear out here in Simpsonville haha. Beautiful creatures, but neighbors would freak! The black bears are regulars up at my parents cabin near table rock and I didn’t think they came much lower than TR.

Interesting, my only suggestion to be sure what critters you have would be to setup a wildlife camera with a motion sensor.

There have been black bears spotted in Simpsonville fairly recently.
