I like it. N2Design one is a good price. Easy install.
My only issue is the truck shutting off when you open the door. But that's a Toyota thing. They all do that. Works flawlessly.

Did you get a tracking update? If not check junk/spam. Shows you’re getting it by Wednesday July 3rd whenever your mailman comes by.

I have the 12.volt one. I like it, but the keyfob doesn't have great range (I live in a condo which makes it tougher). Thinking of getting the smartphone app as a result.

Just throwing my $.02, in addition to whichever remote start you get, i recommend weather tech ( or any brand) rain guards and a reflective (aluminum) windshield shade thing. This way you can leave your windows cracked a little allowing the hot air to escape and keep rain or people from seeing the crack in your windows. I found these two things significantly decreased the temp inside and i dont have to use my remote start for as long.

Ours are both the same device, not similar, THE SAME. Plugs right in. Same app, same device, we actually have a drop down option that allows you to select that you already have purchased a 12VS starter...that is if you feel like saving a little something..

You may or may not have to buy a remote start kit at all! Interestingly enough, Toyota already provides the option of remote start in SOME Toyotas! most people don't even know about it! I have to preface this to say, that it does NOT work on my 2019 tacoma though. I am providing a link to a short video that shows how it works. Supposedly, it works on toyotas that have audio plus or better, but again, it did not work in my 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport, which has Premium audio. But I figure that if it works in some models, then there should be some kind of programming that could be done in the Entune system so that it will work on those such as mine. Anyway, here is a link to the video. It IS interesting!

Marketing silliness. This isn't new. We've known about this...it covers less than a handful of NEWER model/HIGHEST Trim vehicles. And no, you can't program or change Entune to do this. This is useless to most...because Toyota dealerships buy remote starters from me knowing that they are behind in offering this commodity like other manufacturers. If a dealership tells you they can add it to any other car not in the list, they're sourcing it from guys like me across the nation;). There may be an updated list floating around, but Tacomas aren't on there because no one with a '19 has boasted about an "OEM" one. If it existed, dealerhips wouldn't be buying it from me, in fact they even buy them for '19 RAV4s and Landcruisers from me. Here you go.

In your own comment, you circled in red, "Remote connect", which is NOT the same thing! Remote Connect utilizes one's smartphone to do things such as starting the vehicle, unlocking doors, etc. But what I was referring to, is something that seems to actually come already as part of SOME Toyotas, not all. From what I am understanding, the caveat is that one has to have a vehicle with at least, Entune audio plus or higher. SOME of the vehicles with that, can be started by simply using the remote that comes with the vehicle. One hits "lock", "Lock", and then "Lock" again, but this time, holding down the button for at least 3 seconds. The lights should flash and then the vehicle will start. It can then be cut off by hitting the "unlock" button. This is totally different than "Remote Connect", which you are advocating and somewhat, advertising. And it does make sense, that it could be simply a programming thing since it comes on some Entune systems of audio plus or higher, and not others. I am just trying to find out what or which systems it DOES come on. But thanks, for your response, and pointing out about Remote Connect, which is a different thing, and as you pointed out, is something that one has to PAY for annually.

Remote Connect isn't stand alone bud, I agree, it's the phone app portion. HOWEVER, it needs the FOB module portion (which isn't implicit in the chart I provided or in your video link, but is a tell tale way) that this overly enthusiastic guy is boasting. Note the vehicles he mentions and head units he mentions ARE from my chart where the vehicles are circled by me on the left (With the addition/update of the RAV4). Our head-units can never be "programmed or flashed" to do this. Different OS/firmware. Those select units from my attached chart are running android OS, it's how it ALLOWS for...wait for it...the standard CARPLAY on ALL those radio units (look at the second to last column of that chart. Now come 2020 Tacomas, with the addition of CarPlay being added, your discovery/observation may very well hold true. But those are premium head-units, not all trims will have it unless they are higher-up the food chain, or have the tech/prem packages added. Your mind was on the right inquisition...but its nothing to get your hopes up high on. Won't happen on 2016-2019 3rd gen Tacoma Entune.

I tried for hours to hook this thing up. Go through all the steps and get all the right beeps/flashes and nothing. Then take it apart and put it back together and same thing. Hook up app and everything looks great. Turns over but won't start. Text and call Jimmy for hours but nothing. I'll just put the truck back together and call it a lesson learned.

I've found it quicker to drive away with the windows down to let the heat escape, then to let it idle with the A/C on.

Wow, that’s a 20 min install at best. Did it start with 3x lock?

Nope, turned over and wouldn't start. Now it won't even do that.

Betting with all the re programming you reset it. Jimmy will be able to assist you. You most likely need to do a master reset and reprogram. If it doesn’t start that has to do with learning the key.
