I think that’s about going rate for a proper cable, not sure how much the registration/license is going to run you.

FWIW, most ‘sold tunes’ go for pretty close to initial value. I bought my second hand Cobb for ~$1000, and sold it for ~$1000. That was all inclusive though.

I don’t know how it works with OV if you didn’t get a USB dongle with your kit.

Before you email OVTune, download the Software from his website on the laptop that you are gonna use. Then send him your info to get your key (he’ll send you an invoice for $325 to pay). It’s all in the instructions on his website.
I did this when I bought my kit 2nd hand. Just took a couple days and then I was tuned!

If all you bought was a tactrix cable, you'll have to buy the "software only" version of the kit. It used to be on the site for close to 600 dollars, if I remember correctly. I had a tactrix cable from subaru tuning days, and that's what I had to do fwiw...

 

I just got my Tacoma and read about the schizophrenic shifting prior to purchasing. I drove the truck for about 400 miles with no ECT to get a sense of how it really performed. Y'all weren't kidding, sheeeesh! I drove with ECT a couple of times and really noticed the smoothness and less hunting.

-Purchasing the OVTune today because if it is THAT much better....this is a no brainer!

What is "200 cell cat"?

Can you provide some info on the difference between "without catalyst" and "200 cell cat" function/performance wise?

 

it is a type of higher flowing catalyst.
Function is to have a catalyst like OEM so that it would not have any check engine light, or produce harmful emissions.

Performance is TBD vs catless as we just got this price quote today..

Then we will be releasing beta files this weekend for AT and MT.

Edit** not even a hint of droning from 40mph through 70mph - 2000 rpm and below.

@OVTune if I plan to go with a FI kit of yours when it’s available, are these dump tubes not worth purchasing?

I was planning on buying the URD Y Pipe, and your CATTED dump tubes. Feel like that would open up things a lot. But will these parts work with your FI kits when they become available?

 

The dump tubes will work with a SC kit, but will not work with a turbo ( you bolt the turbo to the head via a manifold).

 

I think it’s a legit ovtune cable. Comes in a Ovtune box and little case....still could be fake, but the guy traded in his 17 taco
And has a on eBay.

 

Mat has custom orange OpenPort adapters for OVtune. Yours looks legit.

 

Legit or not, its still only a cable, made by Tactrix. Retail is like $170 so you got a good deal on the cable, but it would be cheaper to buy the software with the cable from OVTune. Hopefully I'm wrong, for your wallets sake.

 

Our cables are specially made by tactrix and not the same as a regular cable.
That is one of our cables.

Dump tubes will only work with SC. (Or NA of course)
