I run E load 285’s and they ride super smooth and comfortable. I love them, zero complaints or issues about them.

For a Tacoma they are over kill! D rated would be great, saves weight on the tires. "E" rated are more for full size trucks. I believe the Ford Raptor comes with "D" rated KO2's.

I got 10plys its not bad they last a long time and never had a flat with them. I found tire pressure was the key thing for me.

Hop in a truck with E load ko2's and then one with C load duratracs. It'll be a pretty easy choice if weighing comfort.

I daily 285/70r17 E-load BFG ko2’s, and have been for the last 4 years about.

    Good:
-They hold heavy bed/ trailer loads super well
-I’ve never punctured a tire offroad

    Bad:
-Dailying with them, you feel EVERY crack on the road, not bumps, but cracks.
-Weight is higher than a C or D, worse mpg

    Neutral:
-have to air down a LOT to get them to open up the tread due to Tacoma’s lighter weight
-most tire sizes and models I would consider, only come in E

When I eventually get 35” tires, I am going to seriously try to get something I like in a D load, which for my use is a good compromise between daily comfort and offroad durability.

275/70/17 KO2’s - E rated. 25k miles later and zero complaints. Didn’t affect trucks performance by a noticeable difference, went down my maybe 1.5MPG.

XLT's do not come in 265/65-17. if they did i would have bought them. the difference between even 265/70 to 265/65 with E range tires is absolutely huge. even 265/70's are butter compared to the same tires in my size. you should take a ride with me! and i run 30psi front & 29psi rear and it will rattle your damn teeth off.
