    ...nothing.

Still sitting with a shot transmission

It’s kinda a whore to work on. I’ll probably sell it sometime soon but I’m a bit attached to it still.

No way you still have that thing? I’d love a triple locked fj80.

Want a smokin deal on one on 35s with a hosed transmission and pretty busted up steering components?

And honestly, unless you do something to the front end to actually get some flex I don’t really see it as much if any more capable than the Tacoma.... maybe in terms of reliability if all things were the same age but not for a 30 year old truck. The height and top-heavyness of it always kinda sketched me out and I had a very small lift on it.

The fact that it’s triple locked and stuffs 35’s with barely any lift makes me feel it’s plenty capable. :notsure: but I never got to wheel one yet. I do remember how sketchy it was for you in Jackson in off camber stuff.

It’s not triple locked... if it were I’d be actively thinking about stealing the axles hahaha.

Get it fer cheap and you could fix/replace the trans and add arbs for a lot less than a running triple locked job:boink:

Here is another pic from that trip. I gotta give @Chux full credit for this pic but he sent it to me this morno and I thought it would be awesome to compare. I posted the same pic in an earlier post that was taken with a phone. I feel the phones clear the image up too much, I’ve noticed it at work a lot aswell trying to take pics during snow storms. This pic was taken on a camera and unaltered. Just to give you an idea how bad the storm was we were dealing with this was taken around 11 A.M.

It looks like pretty epic trip

Curious, how much difference did all those lighbars made for you guys in this type of conditions? How about that amber bar on top? Not trying to be a dick, just curious.
In the middle of the night I'd figure all of them would make a huge difference, right?

The contrast is cool, prob looks awesome on full computer screen. It’s not a blurry photo.. it’s just foggy. Look how clear the branches are in the foreground.

It is a great photo. And like I've mentioned above, looks like an awesome trip!

What say you about the question I posted? Any input?

It’s said that amber light is best in fog and snow conditions. The white light will just be a bright reflection as the light bounces back. In this super foggy condition the lights were better than no lights. The fog was so dense the light cut through it some to help see the edge of trail or branches leaning in some feet further than without lights or just headlights. Without lights it was like consistently driving into a foggy wall wondering which way the trail beds..

Chux pretty much nailed answering your question. Clear night white is the best hands down but dust, fog, snow it’s definitely helpful to have amber for sure. Also a side note the fog was so thick that at about a half a truck length more than in that picture the only time I knew where chux was was when he stepped on the brakes or turned on his rear facing lights. Regular tail lights could not be seen. I think @Chux has video of the weather broadcast. It’s an Erie feeling hearing that and not knowing where to go and having no cell service lol

Thanks for that review. This is what I kinda suspected regarding amber light bar.

Must have been a hell of a feeling going through what you just described...
