Best Sliders For 3rd Gen (2019 Pro specifically)?

I haven't installed these yet... I just finished prepping and painting them. Got them from C4 Fabrication. They will probably go on this weekend...

 

I was considering those step plates, but worry about rust getting into those screw holes and rusting it from the inside out because I live in the midwest.

 

I used RVT black silicone and put it on each hole before running in the screws to help seal it up. I believe you can still order these without the step plates if you want and C4 is running a 10% off sale until July 5th I believe.

 

I hear ya. I'm in Illinois, and am surprised at the amount of rust showing up everywhere, since I moved here from FL in January.

I'm considering this actually, before I mount them on the truck.

 

Need to do something. I bought mine used from a guy local here in Indiana and they had at least a half gallon of water or more in each slider. I could see he tried with tape or something to seal it up but didn't work. He also did a spray paint/truck liner do it yourself job that didn't last one winter. Told me he only had them on his truck 9 months. Sandblast and powder coat has them looking new again. Hopefully I have them sealed up. RVT is same stuff I used to seal the roof rack so should be good. Check out my albums page I have pictures in one of the albums of what they looked like when I got them.

 

Geez, I found the pics of when you got them. They looked pretty bad.

I did 3 coats of primer and 4 coats of engine enamel on mine. Used spray bed liner on the step plates. Guess I'll plan on doing them again next year lol.

 

Ya I have no idea if the guy did something wrong or if that's just how they hold up with rattle can jobs. Sounds like you did a lot more then he probably did. Hopefully you'll be good to go.

 

Finally had my rhino lined caliraised 0 degree sliders installed today. Had them sitting in the garage for a few months.

 

Anyone reading this thread and considering the NFABs. Be aware that they may offer more protection than regular steps, but they are not the same as the sliders put out by the other companies previously mentioned.

Also. I've got All Pros and they are nice.

 

That looks like a good crease to get rocks caught up in.

 

I went with Mobtown like the way they bolted on with no drilling in to the frame.

 

Yeah, probably. I'm not wheeling hard enough to risk that in the near future, though.

 

Mobtown are definitely the community favorite. I went with 4x innovations simply because of the cost. If you’re anti kick out then check out Victory 4x4. They also make a really good and affordable slider and have 2 different styles

 

Some of the pics I see look like the supports from the frame plates to the sliders are fully boxed and some show a C channel. Do they make both ways?

 

I went RCI for several reasons. First they are DOM, secondly they have angled square tube at the front and rear and closed round outer tube to keep from getting hung up, and third was the free shipping from Truck Brigade. I think there are several others that are very good too, just my preferences.

 

I got plain steel RCIs and I sanded them, wiped down with acetone, did 3 coats of self etching primer, and 3 coats of Raptor Liner. I fix scratches with rustoleum rust converter and then hit it with bed liner spray. They have also taken a lot of little rocks that were destined for my paint.

 

Bolt-on can be made strong enough for anywhere you'd want to put a Tacoma (Or even a Jeep.)

C channel shaped. If they were boxed it would seem they would be heavier and unnecessary. I’ve lifted the whole truck by just one part of the slider. They are beefy and weigh 130lbs total
