Nope, no mosquitoes or flies that bothered us. It was mid day though, it may be worse in the evening. There were quite a few bees buzzing everywhere, but none bothered us.

I’m mainly looking for this demonic-sex-toy-of-a-tool that stretches the boot over the axle so I don’t have to take the axle apart. I figured it would be easy with the right tools. Might buy it and return it from Amazon.

    That thing looks...interesting lol.

But if you are taking the CV out anyways doesnt seem like it would really save any time. Especially with the Toyota reboot kit. Removing the CV shaft and cutting the inner boot and the whole thing (moire or less) falls apart to slide the boots on (after cleaning). its pretty much...remove CV axle, cut inner boot, pull "tripod" out of the inner stub, remove C Clip holding tripod to shaft, remove tripod, remove outter CV boot, clean, enjoy grease everywhere, clean up grease that got everywhere, slide new outer boot on, slide new inner boot on, put tripod on, clip on, grease everything, install boots.

You could leave the inner stub in the diff to not have ot drain the front diff too. Just makes it a little more annoying to install the new boot/clamp (but not to bad)

Sounds like a lot of work haha jk.

There are quite a few YouTube videos going through all of that and with your guys help I could get it done without this tool. A benefit is I could replace the inner and putter boots without taking he axle out of The differential. But I already have 2 spare CVs that just need new inners.

    About halfway done...
Here are the crimping tools I used on the bands. One pinches sideways and pushes down at the same time.

    Are floor mats a mod?
The problem is stretching the small end of the boot to get over the CV joint. In my considerable experience with cracked or leaking boots, I found that the small boot end never retracts to be snug on the axle enough to where when you install the clamp it wants to Fold or crimp the boot diameter, thus resulting in a leaky boot, leaving you right where you started. By far best to just go thru the pain of pulling and replacing with a CVJ axle. I spent about $500 dicking around until I surrendered.
As a wise man ( Brian) once said
    Buy once cry once.

Good point on not taking out the inner shaft, as mine were a royal bitch.
