How high do you have them cranked?

    IFS = independent front suspension

No.... That's all toyota RnD and putting the correct dampers on a stock truck for the highway, nothing to do with travel. IFS is Independent Front Suspension.

I bet the stock shocks will feel better to a certain point. Once you hit a bigger pot hole or take it offroad, you're just going to bottom out on the bumpstops and see where the limits of stock suspension are at. And we're not even talking about at what speed hitting the pothole. There are a lot of factors that determine ride quality once you get into lifted vehicles. ADS doesn't valve for all of them at all lift heights, spring preload, speeds, tires. There is no one-size fits all coilover. In order to get the results you want, you'll have to change something to get it. Op said potholes felt harsh, but bumps felt plush. If he wants potholes to feel plush then he'll probably have open up the shim stack or go with a softer spring as I'm thinking he probably has a bit more preload than his shock can dampen.

I’m wondering how much the compression adjustment will help carry a load on Offroad trips? I have HD Dakar’s sometimes I carry 500 lbs sometimes I carry more. I’ve been running the RCD Bilsteins, on a previous trip they started to fade on a pretty bumpy road. Thinking about upgrading to something nice like this and trying to decide what setup will work well

    Yeah.
Compression adjustments don't help carry a load, only springs carry the load. Compression adjustments adjust the amount of damping based on shock shaft speed. Low speed adjustments affect things like g-out at the bottom of a big dip, high-speed adjustments affect things like the bumpy road you describe where the shaft is moving faster. But you may not need the adjustments, just a good digressively-valved shock (less damping the faster the shock shaft is moving) with external bypass to keep things cool and avoid fading.

Disclaimer: I don't run ADS shocks, but I would, I am just a suspension geek.

Whats your droop travel from ride height. If less than 2" all shocks will ride as you described.

Not that unique, Icon does it on all it's 2.0's and King has had digressive rebound adapters for OEM applications for a long time.

Interesting. I thought Icon was purely a digressive valves shock and Kings were progressive

What is the best way to measure this? Draw a line on the shaft where the shock is compressed and then a line after droop...measure difference in the two lines?

Measure center of hub to fender at ride height, droop out front suspension and take the same measurement.

Fits the setup beautifully for an off the shelf shock!

    1st measurement (driver side)
    3.5” of droop measured

    22.375” sitting at fender
    25.625” drooped at fender

    2nd measurement (passenger side)
    2.375” of droop measured

    23” sitting
    25.375” drooped

why are the measurements so different?...weird

I thought so too... Not sure his info is correct.
I did research and the valving for ADS is how I ended up with ADS.

I have them set at the factory preload. I think it’s .3” on the passenger and .5” on the driver side.

Thanks. Yeah, it was somewhat of a leap of faith as I was only familiar with 3 tube layouts on our trucks.
When I finally started cycling, it was a huge relief. Not even close to making contact with anything, even if I had skipped notching the frame.

Question for you. When you let the front droop, does it seem like the driver drops more than the passenger?

I crank up the rear resi with heavier loads so the shock compression is reduced/slowed when I hit big bumps or go off a droppoff in the rear (prevents bottoming out as often). In conjunction with Dakars and Durobumps it’s nice going fast on the trails as well

You have an inch difference per side, time to start double checking your measurements or your truck is not level by 5/8 of an inch.

    Are your fenders cut?

Anything binding on droop? Sway bar, CV's, steering?

The Pass side is normal measurements for 2nd gen, 120/150.

No cut fenders. No binding. May check with sway bar off. Don’t think garage could be downhill 5/8” to the passenger but it’s possible
