Think there is a mod day coming up too, I plan on doing the same thing with my stock Fox coils. There were talks about getting a spring compressor there. These stock Fox coils are too soft.

    She ain't stock anymore.
209's got a mod day rolling up, but we don't have access to a compressor that'll work for coilovers yet. I need to put my 700lb springs on and a few other people need it for various things.

I have these. They'll do the job reasonably fast if you have air tools. Turning them with hand tools is a non-starter, especially on 700# coils.

@Uphillshunter has some of those and we tried to use the to adjust preload on mine and it got kinda sketchy.

We used them several times at @little squirt's and they seemed fine. However, he added some thicker washers because the originals started to bend.

you don't need to compress the coil to adjust preload.

The split ring kept catching on the coil and we couldn't move it without compressing. At least I think that's what was going on, I'm pretty mechanically ignorant.

I like the softness of the 600 with the adjustments I have on the clickers I can get the ride compliant on and off road. But the extra weight is putting them at max and I got a winch and bumper coming so... just don't want a stiff pogo stick on each front corner so I'm thinking bumping to 14" 600 and see how they handle the added weight. If it's not enough I'll bump to 650.

You're right. 3rds are heaviest. I just prefer the softest spring possible and let the shock valving to the work. Im in it for research, there's value in that.

But if all else fails (or when I finally get my shit together and spring for a dual battery, 1/4" BAMF skids and a vagabond) I have 700's sitting in a box.

I didn't need to take my coilovers off to adjust the 700lb springs. Just took the weight off it, pb blast, wait for 5 min, then started loosening up the coilovers lock screw and went to town.

Sunset state beach in Watsonville is pretty nice , pine tree covered campsites with a short hike to the beach.

Lots of fond memories of camping here with friends when we were underage. Much easier to drink and "experiment" when you're not at a stupid houseparty with nosey neighbors. As long as you weren't impacting the camping vibe people didn't care that there was a bunch of F'd up minors running around the campsite.
