Hey folks, need ideas for 4th July weekend. Looking for some neat non-crowded picnic areas with a nice view?
Ok with some light off roading if necessary. Not doing any camping just a to spend a day away from the city with a portable grill with family.

I’m in king county but willing to travel east depending on traffic
    Thanks

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Not sure what part of King your in, but you could head up the 70 rd out of Greenwater. There's going to be a few people up there, especially camped along the paved section but once you get out there aways you'll lose them. Off the 70 I would take the 7030 and wind your way up to Green's Pass. You could take the 70 over Pyramid Pass, but the views aren't as good and there are going to be a lot of jeep in that area. If you go over Green's, take the 7030 to the 7036 (Right at the big intersection). From there Green's is two or three miles. From Green's, you can drop into the Naches and onto Hwy 410 or take the tie road (not sure the number) and drop into the old town of Lester and the back side of Tacoma's watershed. From there you can go over Stamped to I90. Good luck and have fun.

Looks like a really nice area, my only concern is the i90 traffic during holiday weekend, thanks for a suggestion

Yep. I90 or 410 is going to be bussy. My suggestion is to go on Saturday if you're wanting a one day trip. 410 isn't bad, traffic moves just fine, but you're gonna be in a conga line.
