It did just get freshly paved and it has a view to the east almost all the way to Virginia.

However, if its what they wanted, i’m happy for them. I will never care about inheritance or any of that bs, never have. I want them to be happy and blow every red cent they ever earned before they go. Hell, i’ve told them for years now, “buy what you want! Rack up some debt. My brother and I will at least have some cool shit to pay for some day :)

My in laws are the ones who hide money in the mattresses...meanwhile my parents take this loan to pay the last one off and head off to Fiji for two weeks (third vacation of the year)
My dad always says, life insurance will cover the bills I've racked up...you guys won't be responsible for any of it, don't worry!

About a year or so ago, I was sitting in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace course with my wife...unbeknownst to me, my dad was driving his Sequoia to Michigan from VA to trade it for a $75k AMG E63 Wagon.
He tells me it's 600+ HP and goes 0-60 in 3.6s, to which I reply, "You drive 3.5 miles round-trip 3 days a week to the train station on roads that don't exceed 45 mph speed limits!?"

Gotta love a guy who lives in excess! Come to think of it you are the only guy I know that has enough dough to visit a financial planner. My financial planner is called the IRS:mad:

In most states adult children are not responsible for parents debt with the exception of medical and or nursing home debt ,the estate is responsible if there’s no estate (spend it like you stole it) for mortgages ,cc and other debt .. life insurance is not part of the estate and belongs to who ever is beneficiary of it .. Not a lawyer but been doing some digging for my own purposes but every state has laws that cover family member debt.

Not a financial planner, it's the figure out how to get out of debt class, which somehow starts with giving paying $100 and then giving your 10% to the churcho_O...took the financial advice and left the other stuff for those who could benefit from it.

Well he's assuming he goes first, then my mom is responsible and will need life insurance to cover his tab... I'm not too concerned with it all, just doing some digging to get myself out of his mindset and into a better situation for my wife and kids:fingerscrossed:

Sorry about that pally, just pulling your leg actually. I know what you’re talking about wife and kids come first. Was 43 years old before we got our first toy. A little Carolina skiff that we could enjoy as a family. As a matter of fact I’m driving my wife’s hand me down 2012 while she’s in a new 17 sport. It takes a little while but it seems you’re working hard at it. It’ll happen :)

My dad bought a new Carolina Skiff at last years boat show. Its only been out about 10 times but if it makes him happy that's all that matters. I gave him a Harley a few years back because he wanted one to start riding again. It kinda resembles the one he had to sell to pay school tuition for my brother & i when we were kids. My mom passed in 2016 from cancer at the age of 62. My parents were together since high school so he needed something to keep his mind occupied after the loss of my mom, the bike & boat helps. I always tell him you only live once and you can't take it with you so enjoy yourself now.

Ours was a little 16 footer with a 25 Yamaha on it. When we first got it the kids were in their early teens and we could get up on plane no problem. Years went by, kids got bigger, we got bigger, you could forget about reaching plane. Hell we were lucky we didn’t get swamped with water to the gunnels!

So anyone know any good secret camp spots near Beckley, WV? Might head out that way after we do the cabin on the 4th to meet some friends for the weekend. Not sure what's out that way in the George Washington National Forest or around New River Gorge!?

I’m hoping to section in just that side from a wrecked truck or get a replacement piece.

But that doesn’t mean it won’t fucking do it again, sadly.
