    Yes, but if the pro ends up being cheaper because of the frequency of revisions to the tune then it might be worth the extra money.

    You sure can. Your truck will be licensed to his MPVI2 however. So in the future if you wanted to get your own MPVI2 you would likely need to buy 4 more credits to license it on your tuner.

    Still no need to buy a pro one... that just allows logging of external things etc.

    Got it! I was a little confused what all the differences were between the standard and the pro. I assumed it came with either more credits or unlimited. That would be nice!

    I think there are some special cases for say a professional tuner. But for us, you need credits. The "pro" is simply a cable and license that plugs into the standard MPVI2 that unlocks extra logging abilities. https://www.hptuners.com/product/pro-feature-for-mpvi2/

    Regardless if you have the MPVI2 or MPVI2 + pro feature set, you will still need 4 universal credits to write to the vehicle

    No special cases for professional tuners. The tacoma has to be licensed per vehicle where HPTuners has an option to do unlimited GM platforms with a purchase of 12 credits.
