    Just the basics
I can't imagine how confined it would feel to have the platform at the top of the bedside. I can sit up in my setup with no issues but my shell is taller than the cab.

You can see my set-up above. I am 6'0". I cannot come even close to sitting straight up but I can sit up in a very hunched forwards position. I have never blasted my head but I have brushed it many times. There is sort of a learned maneuver where you swing your head and shoulders out to the side as you transition from back to hunched forwards. And then there is sort of a scrunching forwards maneuver towards the exit sort of like a cat with a sore butt. You get used to it. Or it is easier to crawl backwards. The Leer 180 is about 4" taller than the cab. But hey, I wish I had 8" more inches of headroom.

The problem with not having a platform above the wheel wells is side to side space. It is fine for one person but where would my wife sleep? It is all tradeoffs. I guess I should have bought a $450k BlueBird 40-footer. But then I could not get to the back-country.

I've thought about a molle panel over the windows as an interesting option to protect the windows from the inside if stuff shifts around, and to increase deterrence to a "smash and grab" from the outside. I just haven't looked into it too closely to see if someone makes a panel that would work, or if it would have to be custom made.....

Plan on building a single drawer/platform soon (after I build my fridge slide).

Looking to save some weight. Just a goal to be around 80lbs. It will be wood, outdoors, and I won't be sleeping on it, as I have a RTT with bed rack. It probably also will fit a short bed, as I have stuff in the front of the bed, that wont be moving.

Here is previous setup, with shortbed bedslide (now sold) in my long bed

The same shit everyone else has.

It’s 1” nylon webbing folded over to make a loop then bolted in place.

Most craft stores should carry it

I have a couple of pencil pouches I bought at the Dollar Store velcro-ed to the carpeted headliner, one on each side near the front. They are big enough for a pocket size pack of kleenex, a few cough drops, earplugs, a nasal inhaler and that is about it. But having a kleenex when you need one is awfully nice. My watch, glasses and flashlight stow fairly nicely on the little ledge where the topper meets the truck bed. My Concealed Carry weapon goes under the mattress in the corner near my head.

That was one of the reasons I pulled the platform out. I sleep on an Exped Syn Mat Duo. Gear in totes and bags in the cab.
When driving, I roll bed to the left and velcro. Totes and bags on the right.
    Easy Peasy. So much better.
More gear in a Thule box on top.

I think I am going to sell the platform I made.
I saw those at a Leer dealer in Asheville.

    A thing or two...
Did you secure that water hose at all? If it's just hanging in free air, it's going to fail at the end connections eventually.

Has anybody ever had issues with a loud dripping sound when sleeping in their bed during rain?

I've had two nights of heavy rain sleeping in mine now and I have this loud "TACK TACK TACK" sound all night long that is driving me insane. It seems to be right underneath my head, near the drivers side bed/cab seam. I can hear it clear as day when in the bed, but if I go out in the rain to investigate, I can't hear it over the sound of the rain.

I suspect that it is rain dripping from the canopy between the cab/bed seam and landing on something hollow like the gas tank or muffler.

Has anybody experienced or solved this already? I was thinking I need to put some sort of weather seal between the bed and cab to stop the drip but I worry a little bit about anything that would rub the paint between the two as the bed and cab shift around independently.
