Another thing to mention, something I had wish I known when upgrading to HIDs is the "HID shake". I had it BAD when I put in the phillips 4300k bulbs I ended up switching to 5000k bulbs, a bit less output and that helped me notice it a lot less. The housing in the tacoma has some play, so with the brighter lights you can really notice it going over bumps in the road, especially offroading.. I was out last night at dark on a dirt road and yeah, its annoying to say the least. Some people have it worse than others, just something to consider.

It is true, it is a problem with the Tacoma projector, covered in the thread posted earlier.

I am running Morimoto 5500K bulbs with Hylux ballasts purchased from The Retrofit Source. No shaking and they have I great output. Stock highbeams and OEM Toyota Tundra LED projection fog lights.

Do a retrofit if you want proper lighting without any shaking.

A RX350 projector retro-fit is also at the top of my list to do next for obvious reasons^.

Second the DDM kit. Ive used their kits for years and never any issues. Affordable kits too. Only shitty part is the shipping time from China.

    EDIT: Do that retrofit too

I had HID on my Solara but the standard lights on my 2019 are pretty good. Not sure if it’s worth the hassle to change out.

No that’s a rx350 projector retrofit. You won’t get that light output from an led bulb for sure. A full on mled projector comes close but that’s also doing it the right way.

I used kustom54lighting and a basic retro is about $1100. That includes everything for the hid setup and painting the housings. Anything extra increases the price.
