I always change my oil cold, after sitting overnight - I let it drain 10 or 15 minutes while doing other things on the list. After 14 changes, only once did no oil drain from the filter after loosening it. That was because the anti drain valve in the filter wasn't holding.

    Subbed...

And there is always oil in my filter after sitting for 7-8 hours at work before I get around to changing it...usually just before I leave.

God I hate how accurate that is.

Looks a bit more Chinese than me though.

The site I stole the pic from says it's the parts counter for Toyota of Marikina Phillipines (it was the only one I could find with an oil filter).

    Oh the horror:bananadead:

I use then only so I don’t strip out the drain threads. They give a noticeable compression that tells me when to stop...after a nudge more.

Haha. I use aluminum washers, I just make my own. Ok well I take that back. I bought a bunch of OEM fiilters on sale & they came with free washers. But when they run out & if I don't get more for free, I'll go back to using the ones I machine.

If you really want to go back to your aluminum ones I'll take those Toyota ones off your hands ;)

I'm team warm-oil changes btw....run the truck to operating temp then let it sit for maybe 20-25 min. I've done hot oil changes before and maybe I'm just messy but that shit doesn't feel so good when it gets on you.

Also we don't have that super accessible oil filter that the 2nd gen guys have, the bastards. No matter what I do it makes a mess.

Worst was when I tried doing it with the skid plate on, man that was a bad idea
