All good. I got my couple handfuls in the mail today...but, apparently I've lost my mind. The properly sized socket (mind you, this same socket took every other lug not off the front wheels), on three different tools in my hands resulted in slipping on the nut...in the hands of the tire shop, they had no issues...So yeah, no idea what I was doing wrong...or rather, what I wasn't doing right. For all I know, since I haven't tried again yet, the one that was messed up in my hands, could still be on there.

You quote multiple quotes in your message responding to multiple peeps at the same time. Think of it as a threesome but no happy ending. Makes sense?o_O

Have you tried sae equivalents? Maybe they sent that rubbish instead of the metrics? How olds the socket? Old enough to round possibly? (If so you need to tell Ugga and Dugga that while it’s been nice you need some time to find yourself)

I know crazy mike I just never use the damn thing! I’ll quote/post 2 separate then smack myself for not patiently reading and adding multi quotes instead of ADD-ing all over the thread.

Nah, all original nuts. Tire shop used the same sized socket as I did...for whatever reason, my fronts are 22 mm's. The one I was using was brand new, sooo, yeah, don't know what the deal is.

Oh, I'm definitely in need of a change. I've been doing some poking around, but I need to find some more places around St. Louis to look in to.

    Yeah.
Hmm, they should be 21mm. I rotated my tires a few weeks ago (and then swapped to KO2's, so waste of time really) and a couple of the nuts got stuck in the socket. Odd, since I only have 7600 miles on the truck. Did some research and found that the non-solid ones can swell -- there's an outer chrome layer laid over the actual nut, and with heat they can apparently swell (this is all questionable internet and TW info, unverified). But, they did get stuck in my 21mm 6-point socket, so maybe some truth there. May be why yours appeared to need a 22mm.

Anyway, I swapped to some solid Gorilla lug nuts from Wheelers.

Toyota lugnuts since ‘96 have all been 21mm except the new Supra which is either 18mm or a center lock lug.

If you are referring to this style, I'm not sure about swelling but what I do know is that the chrome layer will eventually begin to spin around the underlying nut and get deformed. When I installed my Ray10s, I had to cut the chrome caps off of several of the lugs to get them off. PITA!!!!!

these type will corrode too, won't they?

I have black ones on mine but are weathered from all the tire rotations 'professionally' done
